I saw both, you definately need to be seeing a peri/MFM specialist but you can also see your regular OB too. Did you talk to your OB to see what their policy is for that? My OB just automatically had me see the MFM at 20w and every month thereafter, in addition to my regular OB appts with her.
I saw both. At my first appt, my OB referred me to the MFM, since their standard practice for multiples is to see both. My MFM does not deliver, so my regular OB needed to stay involved. I primarily saw the MFM early on, with only very quick OB check-ins. As I got closer to the end, my OB appts got longer as we talked about delivery, etc. The MFM did all of my ultrasounds, NSTs, etc., and worked really closely with my OB (they are in the same building) but my OB retained final decision-making power in terms of treatment recommendations.
I see both and it can be annoying at times. I am currently seeing her every 4 weeks, which is the same schedule as my OB. Sometimes I feel like "why bother" with my OB. His in office u/s machine is just so so. Is it really necessary when I peed in a cup, had my blood pressure taken, and had an awesome u/s the day before?
Of course, I felt the same way about most OB appts with DS too!
I only saw my OB. I think most on here see both but my OB said he had a lot of experience with twins and felt comfortable not sending me to a specialist, I felt fine with that decision.
My ob sees multiples and referrs to a peri if an issue arises. I saw just my ob until about 29 weeks-then I developed pre e symptioms and I consulted with the peri's. With my practice-they peri's only recommend-they don't deliver. So they work hand in hand with the ob

This. I did have one follow-up u/s at the MFM, but that was it. When my OB made the decision to induce me at 36w6d due to borderline pre-e, she consulted with the MFM first.
I had both. My OB delivered me and did all my regular monthly pregnancy appointments (weight, pee in a cup, doppler/us, etc). My Peri did all my high risk appointments (growth scans, cervical checks, etc). I saw him from 16w-32w.
Loved both of them and they worked well together concerning my care. Some OB's are comfortable doing all the high risk scans in house and have more experience with twins. Mine preferred I see both which I appreciated because I was a total basket case and worried about everything the whole pregnancy
I'm seeing both. At this point it's once a month to MFM and once a month to the OB. My MFM is 100 miles away from where we live. I started seeing him at 17-18 weeks. I'm not sure what my OB's policy is (she was very vague) so I actually requested an earlier referral to them MFM because I felt uncomfortable with just the OB.
I went to an MFM (Peri) for ultrasounds and he reviewed them all, but I only "saw" my doctor. When my doctor was deciding whether she was comfortable with me delivering the girls vaginally, she had a conference call with the MFM to make the decision. Scheduled c-section instead.
Re: OB vs Perinatologist or both?
Most peris, also known as MFMs, will not deliver so you'll need to see both.
I lucked out and had a peri who did deliver, so I just saw him.
