I'm pretty sure today will be CD1 given the cramps and spotting. I'm not happy about it, but I'm not all that upset by it either, I figured this cycle wasn't going to work out because of the UTI.
This upcoming cycle, I'm doing Clomid again CD3-7, and the RE is leaving the dosage the same, even though I didn't likely ovulate until CD22. Also, because I ovulated late this cycle, he's not going to do the first monitoring appointment until CD18. Does this strike anyone else as odd?
If I'm not ovulating until after CD20 on Clomid, would it be normal to stay with the same dosage? And isn't CD18 for first monitoring a little late? I know he pushed back the monitoring because this cycle I O'd late, but the other 2 clomid cycles, I O'd around CD16. I'm worried that he's going to miss it again, but he seems confident that I won't.
Either way, I'm going to be charting this cycle, so even if he missed it, I hope I can catch it, but it just seems like a strange way to do things.
Re: Just waiting for the end and clomid ???s
This makes sense, I really didn't think of that. My RE really didn't reason any of his decision, and he has so many student doctors working with me that I always feel too intimidated to ask questions.
I know that the students are there to learn, but sometimes I'd like to tell them all to get the hell out so that I can talk to my doctor one on one.
Last time I went in, my RE didn't even come in the room... he left me with a different RE and two students. After they went through my results with me, he came in and repeated everything they just said.
I'm sure they don't want to overstimulate you and since you DID ovulate on 50mg they don't see the need to up the dosage. As for timing for first u/s...don't they have you do OPK's and have you come in if it starts to detect a surge?
Mine says start taking OPK's two days after last clomid pill and if there is a surge to call to come in, otherwise stick with your original u/s date. If you feel they might miss it, you could always lie and call on cd16 saying you got a postitive OPK. But if I were you and OPK's work for you, and you are doing TI (not IUI) then I guess you could not have to lie...just see if you do get a pos. before your u/s and if not then see what the u/s results are.
IUI#4 1/23/13 on 75iu x9 Follistim = BFP then chem preg m/c (Feb 2013)

Wow, no, my RE tells me not to even bother charting, let alone do OPK's. They schedule all the monitoring appointments on CD1 for the entire cycle, so I don't call in for anything, I just know to go in on whatever two CD's they tell me to go in on. I've never tried doing OPKs because my cycles were all over the place, but I guess I could do them on Clomid since these cycles are a little more predictable. We are doing TI, but my RE just says to start EOD sex from CD10 on.
are you triggering too? Seems like that might help if Clomid is being unreliable in when you are going to O.
I would fuss for a CD14 u/s personally

No trigger. I think I may take the advice above and try OPK + charting. At least that way, if he's got his dates screwy, then I'll be able to figure it out. I think when I call for CD1 though, I'm also going to ask if they're sure that's right.
I have to say - I've heard that Clomid can alter OPK's. I haven't tried them myself - in fact, I was researching the idea of using them earlier this morning. If this cycle doesn't work - our next cycle will be our last, Hail Mary chance on Clomid. I'm obessed with finding when the exact time I ovulate (only because it has either not happened, or happens different each time...couldn't make it easy, right?!).
Let us know if you hear of any positives or negatives to OPK's and Clomid.
