Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

What straw cup do you like?

After trying 8 diffferent sippies, the Nuk Learner is the only one son does well with and actually gets water out of.  I have read to try straw cups when starting milk.  Any specific kind that is easier than others?

We like this Playtex one and I've seen a lot of other girls on the board recommend it.

We use the Take and Toss ones. They are cheap, don't leak too much, and DD refused to use any sippy or straw cup with a valve.

We like the Tommy Tippee cups. One reason we like them is because DS doesn't have to work a valve in order to drink from the straw. What stops the straw from leaking is a piece inside the lid.

We actually use a regular spout sippy for DS milk because he likes to lay down while drinking it(morning wakeup, snack, & night-night) & he doesn't seem to want to tilt it up far enough when it gets low.,vs the straw cup we use for water/juice which he can even walk around with it.

  • We started out using non-leak proof ones so it was super easy to drink out of (the valves make it hard even for me!) After a couple months DH got tired of the leaking so I bought the Tommy Tippee ones and they're fantastic. They're a little bit harder, but not bad at all and haven't leaked one drop, even when the straw is up.

  • We use the Thermos Foogo straw sippy.  There isn't really a valve, so it's easy to sip from it.

    This.

DD did GREAT learning to drink from a straw with this cup. I did find that the milk leaked through the straw some, though. Once she had learned, we switched to the Munchkin straw ones that don't have a handle.

this. though we haven't switched to another type, they do leak some. It is the first and only straw I've been able to get her to use.
