and a ?? about antibiotics for said ear infection

DS is on a different antibiotic since it didn't seem to clear up on Amox (you know the stuff that tastes like candy and he begged to take 2 times a day!!!).  So the new stuff is = to rat poison in his eyes.  Any suggestions on what I could mix it in to make it more palatable?  TIA!

    Nope- sorry except you could ask the pharmacist to add flavor they usually have about ten flavors.

    Other than that- my pedi in Louisville told me that amoxicillin TYPICALLY only works in kids that don't go around other kids much.  It didn't work on C and she isn't around other kids often at all.  So he told me that meant she would probably need augmentin instead.  I THINK they made hers bubble gum flavor and she loved it.

    Not sure if that helps any.  Good luck.  Ear infections stink!

    Our pharmacist will add flavor, I would bring it back to them and ask for it.

    C is a daycare kid and most of his ear infections were responsive to amox. We only had to go to the augmentin once.

    No ideas about what to mix it in, but...

    DD hates the Amox she's on for her ear infection. After the 2nd time of literally holding her down to get it in her I had an idea:

    we bribe her with a popsicle (her latest love)

    If she takes it without fighting, she gets a popsicle afterward. If she fights us, she's taking it anyway, but no popsicle.

    That has been a fabulous success, and we're on day 6 of 10, so... if you're not above bribing your kids (obviously I'm not, LOL!), it's an idea. Just gotta figure out what it's worth to him.
