So, I bought a used pump about a year ago. The lady I bought it from had bought it 2 years prior, and she barely used it, as her son would not take a bottle. I've been using it for 6 months now, with more frequent use now that I'm back at work (back since Feb 1).
And I'm wondering if it is wearing out. It is a Medela Pump In Style, and when I started using it, I had the big Min/Max knob on the Min side, and the level at 3. Now I've had to amp it up to 5 with the Min/Max knob in the middle. Do these things really wear out that quickly? Or is it maybe my tubing is getting worn out and I need to replace it? Any thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Amy
Re: Pump wearing out?
Huh, I always pumped with the setting on Max or I got nothin'. I would try replacing the tubes and I forget what they are called but make sure you replace those little white tabs often.
Yes - replace the membranes. Makes a big difference!
Thanks ya'll! That makes total sense. I will get some of those rubbery flanges asap.
Update: Do y'all mean this part?
