If your child found a dead animal, and started playing with it...

would your first instinct be to go grab the video camera??

Re: If your child found a dead animal, and started playing with it...

  • My husband showed this to me the other day.

I would FLIP if my kids were playing with dead animals! I am just glad they said a bath was next.

Also, with all the creepy-pedo's out there.. I would be very hesitant to post a video of my little girl in just panties on the internet. Too many sickos out there.

  • Me...nope. For my husband and his family who are from Louisiana this sort of thing is no big deal. After they played with it they'd probably eat it too.

I about puked when I saw this the other day. Also, that thing is really floppy, not stiff, so its freshly dead?

The details below the video I saw said this:

Our newly adopted Greyhound, Ivy unexpectedly walked directly up to a squirrel (while leashed) and quick as lightning, killed it with a very humane shake. She dropped it, walked on, my husband behind her with his jaw dropped. Soon after, back at the house, our daughter had picked it up....with so much love......

I was grossed out. That's just sick, I would freak out if my husband let Em touch a dead animal. Thank goodness they mentioned the bath, I really hope she got a good cleaning.

I'm from Louisiana, too. I don't know anyone who eats squirrels, but my dad did let me bury a baby bunny that fell into our pool. I'm not as bothered by the video as some people.

  • Hmmm... while I'm pretty grossed out by the idea of letting Lila touch a dead animal, I do appreciate when parents handle things calmly instead of freaking out.  Though for me that would definitely not include grabbing the video camera.

Did anyone catch what the mom said right before she swore and shuttled the dog back inside the house?  Something about having to get a license?  I'm curious what else was going on here.

I'm with you on this.  And the dog had just killed the squirrel, so it's not as gross as if they'd come upon one whose cause of death (and degree of decomposition) was not known.

I didn't hear that, but i would guess it was a joke about needing a hunting license since their dog's "hunting" squirrels.

I watched it again trying to figure it out and I'm pretty sure she wasn't joking about anything.  It's like she looks over her shoulder and sees someone/thing and gets agitated.  Guess I'll never know - oh well.

  • That is so disgusting!

    Well, then, that is weird.

I watched that part over and over after reading your comment trying to figure it out. She seemed pretty annoyed by it. And then it looked like she was carrying a wallet and walked over to that random car on the road. Sketchy.

I decided to go back and watch the whole thing... it is weird.  She's clearly agitated as she comes in, then you can hear her and a man talking in the background.  A mystery, indeed.
