Have you or DH ever tasted breast milk?

Some woman wrote into this magazine I was reading asking if it was safe for her husband to taste it because he was so curious. I never have, but I'll admit I'm curious. I just don't think I'll act on that. Has anyone here ever tasted it?

Yes, I tried it when I was BF. I made DH try it too, lol. I've even tried DD's formula and I would have to agree that Similac does taste alot like BM!

Why would someone think it is not safe to taste? Its safe for a baby... I never understood that. Anyways...

YEP DH and I have both tried it. It tastes like 1% normal milk to me, just sweeter. I honestly think it tastes really good, no wonder DD likes it so much! LOL

I've never actually taken a sip of it, I just taste the food after I've thinned it with BM/formula...

I always think of the Friends episode where Susan says it tastes like canteloupe juice.

No, but I don't know why I haven't. The thought of it isn't gross to me, but I never could bring myself to do it. I think it's because it's warm once pumped and that grosses me out a little, and then after it's been in the fridge and I've seen it separated, that grosses me out a little too lol. DH would never!

Yep, once out of curiosity and once because I spilled a drop on my hand. Agree with pp that it tastes like vanilla soy milk (or vanilla something bland, but slightly sweet). I've offered to let DH try it - he got a kind of weirded out look on his face and said he'd think about it.

lol, I do from time to time. Like if E is really fussy while he's eating I wonder if something I ate or did (like the rare occasions I get to exercise) made it taste funny.

DH has zero interest though.

My milk goes bad quickly, so any time I use some of my freezer stash I have to taste it. DH and I have both tried it right after I pumped and it tastes really good. I hate cow's milk, but BM, that's another story. No wonder my kid is in the 90% for weight!
