My poor baby :(

I had a doctor's appt. today. While I was waiting to be seen, DH called. Clay monkeyed up his chest of drawers during naptime and somehow managed to get hold of a mason jar of marbles I have of there for decoration, and smashed it. I have no clue how he managed it. That glass is really thick, and his room is carpeted. He gashed his arm to all heck. I got to the pedi's office just before they started stitching. He was so brave. He didn't cry until about halfway through, and then it was just big, sad tears while he laid still the way they asked him to. Now he's home with seven stitches and a big purple bandage that he's enormously proud of, and I'm child-proofing his room with a MUCH more conservative eye towards adventuresome little boys!

  • Oh the poor thing! :(  He does, however, seem extremely proud of his bandage...and we totally have that peek-a-boo book too!

  • I'm sorry.  But that is a really cute picture.  Don't you wonder exactly what his thought process was when it all went down?
  • Awe! Poor little guy.

  • That is scary, and I'm glad he only hurt his arm.  Poor little guy, though he does look quite tough.  :-)

  • Poor little guy.

But just reading this makes me scared about what my little man is going to be getting into. 8 months and he's already getting brave. I'm scared we are gonna become regulars at the ER. LOL

Poor little guy, he looks SO cute in that picture too.

I have a VERY similar story and I can't remember if I posted it here or not.  A few months ago DD got a snowglobe off her dresser during naptime and stepped on it (at least we think that's what happend since the floor is carepted and it shouldn't have broken any other way) and it broke.  She had a HUGE gash in her heel so off to the ER we went.  It was on the back of the foot so they didn't think stitches would be good there so they just did dermabond.  She has a terrible scar.

The nice thing is, she has not gotten out of her bed at naptime since! :p
