Schedule at 10 months

So we are still struggling with early (5:30am) wake ups even with cutting naps.  I just started waiting up till 6am before going in and then turning the lights on and acting very chipper to try and single that 6am (not earlier) is wake up time based on a book a friend lent me.  I'm still trying to make sure they're on track and would like to get on a 2-3-4 schedule, but our wake time makes that difficult because I feel I'd be putting them down a little too early.

Would you mind sharing your 10 month old-ish schedules?  TIA!

Re: Schedule at 10 months

  • ours aren't quite 10 months yet, but we still get the 5:30 wake up as well. Maybe half the time, they will go until 6 or 6:15, but it's random. FWIW, our schedule is as follows:

wake 5:30, but like you, we don't get them until 6am (they are just up and talking)

    6:15 nurse

    8 - 9 am nap

9:15 nurse or bottle if it's a work day

    10:15 solids

    11 - 12 or 12:30pm nap

    12:45 nurse/bottle

    2pm solids

    3-4pm nap

    4:30pm nurse/bottle

    5pm solids

    6:30pm nurse

    7:00pm bedtime

9pm - I still wake them for a dream feed because it's been working for us! Plus, they haven't been eating much at their 6:30pm nursing session and have been waking up to eat again anyways.

  • Mine occasionally wake around 5:30 or 6, but they're usually back to sleep after a paci replacement. Our schedule is:

7:30/8am - wake and 6 or 7oz bottle, breakfast (usually yogurt)

9:30/10am - nap until lunch time

11:30/12 noon - lunch (oatmeal, fruit, veggie if still hungry) sippy of water

2pm - nap until dinner time

3:30/4pm - 6 or 7oz bottle, dinner (usually experiment with finger foods at this time)

    7:30pm - 8oz bottle, bed - asleep by 8pm

  • Mine have done the waking up at 5:30 thing more lately and it sucks.  Usually I don't get them out of bed until 6:30, after I have showered and pumped.  Sometimes they are awake and talking at 6:00 when I go to pump, but I leave them in bed.

    So, awake by 6:30

Nap by 9:00, tends to be anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours long

    Another nap around 1:30, usually 1 1/2 hours - 2 hours

Then we put them down for bed by 7:00, if they didn't have good naps during the day they are usually down by 6:30.  My DD usually falls asleep pretty quickly and is up in the morning earlier than DS.  DS still fusses when we put him down and it takes him a good 15 - 20 minutes to fall asleep.

  • mine are 9.5 months.  no matter what I do, they are early risers - they are almost always up before 6.   But they go to bed early so I deal.

their first nap is usually around 8:30 for a little less than an hour.

second nap is around 12:30, or 3 hours after they woke up,  for between 45 min and 1.5 hours.

start bedtime routine at 6 because they get the cranks early.   Both are usually asleep by 6:30/6:45

  • 6:15ish- wake 6:30- 7oz bottle 8:00- breakfast 9:30-10:30- nap 10:30- 7oz bottle 12:30- lunch 2:30-4:30- nap 4:30- 7oz bottle 6:00- dinner 7:30-bottle/bed If anyone gets up before 5:45, they get a bottle with me on the recliner in the dark. I can usually get them to snooze for a half hour or so. I agree about the morning chipper dance. I even have my own "thank you for sleeping!" song.
