Sleep sheep? Q from 3rd-Tri'er

Hi new Moms, and congrats!

Just wondering if anyone has had success using the Cloud B Sleep Sheep as a soother/white noise machine for your LO?

Likes/dislikes?

Also, do you use the original size or to-go (travel) size?

It's super cute and reasonable, so I'm thinking of giving it a whirl.

TIA!

Re: Sleep sheep? Q from 3rd-Tri'er

  • We have the larger size and DS really liked the heartbeat sound the first 6 weeks of his life but now he just wakes up and screams when the timer turns it off.  We have had far more luck with the crickets sound or waterfall sound (sounds like snow channel to me..) on a homedics sound machine, simply because it can stay on all night if need be.  We got it as a gift so I'm not sure if it was cheaper or not.. but we use it 9 times out of 10 vs the sleep sheep.

  • LO has the original size. The sounds are loud, clear and the sheep is cuddly and soft. He doesn't care for it at all, I like it more than he does. He's a very laid back baby though and it doesn't take much to get him to sleep.

  • We used ours every time he slept for the first few weeks as it was the only thing that kept him asleep. I liked the portability of it.

Now, we have a homedics sound machine & I like it better b/c it can be on all night. In fact, its on right now for his nap. He likes the waterfall one the best ( really just sounds like static), but it helps drown out all the background noises..

This.  We love our sleep sheep, except that it turns off after 45 minutes.  Sometimes, when we have to go in multiple times to sooth our son to get him to sleep, the sheep turns off before he's asleep.  That sucks.

We now use a white machine alarm clock that I happened to have before I got pregnant.  We just turn it on all night, and it works really well for us.

  • The Sleep Sheep has been OK for us as far as getting him to sleep at night and drowning out some noises, but I agree with others that it's annoying that it cuts off after a short time. I'm considering buying another white noise machine that can stay on all night.

  • Nothing has worked for us.  The Sleep Sheep worked once or twice, but for the most part white noise does nothing for my DD.  But, it is a cute and maybe it will help with the next one.  I got it as a gift.

  • I have the travel sleep sheep and a white noise machine.  DD likes the white noise machine better, especially at night....she wakes up and cries every time the sheep turns off.  If it had a continuous on button I think we would like it more.  I do use it when we are not in the house though, it is better than nothing.

  • We have the regular size one. Our LO loves it. We take it in the car with us sometimes. She likes the ocean sounds. It does shut off quickly, but our LO is usually asleep by then. I would recommend it!

  • We got the regular size Sleep Sheep for DD1 and we still use the sound box in her room at night. We actually took it out of the sheep because we found it was louder that way. Worth the money IMO.

  • We got the full size one as a gift and LO really likes it. We also have another noise machine, which LO likes just as much and it was cheaper and has more sounds on it. I like that we can take the sheep wherever we need it, but that's about it.

  • We have the regular size Sleep Sheep.  So far it's been working really well.  We use the ocean sound to start with.  It's quite loud and annoying IMO, but it works on getting her to sleep!  If she wakes up in the night, I turn on the rain sound which is more soothing to me!  Sometimes the 23 minutes doesn't last long enough and i just turn it on again.  I think the 40 minutes, or whatever the other option button is, is a little long.  I get tired of listening to it before time is up!  But all in all, we have been very happy with it!
