36 week appt = 3 cm dilated and 90% effaced

Totally wasn't expecting that. How freaked out should I be that my June baby might be a May baby?!?

Also excited, for the record.

    Congrats!  I wouldn't freak out.  You could stay that way for weeks.  You just never know.  However, it doesn't hurt to get any last minute things you need to do done just in case. :)

    A. Be excited but it could mean nothing.  I was 3cm and 90% effaced last week at my 36w appointment and this week I had not progressed at all.  So it could still be quite a while.  But hopefully for you it means LO will be here soon.

     B.  Just FYI about 5 posts down there is a weekly progress check in where everyon posts their dilation/effacement.  And we do it bi-weekly.  Just a heads up! Smile

    That's awesome! Any progress you make before active labor is a bonus. Unfortunately it doesn't indicate when you'll go into labor.

    Thanks for the heads up! I hadn't noticed those posts. 

    And it's good to hear someone else say that they were that far dilated and effaced at 36 weeks. My doctor seemed legitimately surprised, which threw me for a loop.

    I think I was just more prepared for to hear that nothing was really going on down there yet. Now I've had my freak out and I'm prepared for whenever baby decides to come. Big Smile Probably...

    That is exactly what I was when pregnant with DD @ 36wks... and she was born @ 38wks.

    I was at 3 for about a month and only delivered 4 days early from due date with DD. But still exciting!
