No. We have very few rules and one of them is no standing on furniture. We say "on your bottom" if he attempts it. I was really glad for the rule when I was at a playgroup and saw two three year olds standing in someone else's leather club chairs. Not cool. And I say Cah lah rah doh so I think that's a different option. I'm from central TX.

2. Short a. Call-oh-rad-oh. Do people really say it the octopus style?
Oh yes. I'm an octopus. Also how does everyone say Nevada? I say it octopus style. DH says it short a style which is according to Nevadans the correct way.

Nuh-vah-duh (same "a" as colorado)
Are you from Texas originally? I guess I pictured that type of pronunciation being an East coast thing. I'm a native Californian and pretty much everyone I know pronounces both as I do.
1. Only upstairs in the playroom, everything else is off limits and they get this, also never at anyone elses house. Honestly my kids move from the minute they wake up until the minute they go to bed if we can't go outside after dinner we all go up stairs and they jump from couch, to trampoline, to chair while DH and I throw pillows at them, they love it and it burns off the last of their energy before bedtime.

Yes Texas originally but my MIL is from the East coast and says Nevada with a vah- long a style also so you are right about that. But somehow lots of texans do it too. I think they like to stretch words out as much as possible. Hah

1) Miles walks/climbs/crawls all over our furniture, but it's old and I don't care if he ruins it. With this child, everything is a struggle, so I have to pick my battles. When he's a little older, we will probably be more strict about treating furniture nicely. FWIW, though, we do not allow him to climb on furniture at other people's houses.
2) Short a, like apple. DH's Denver-based relatives say it that way, so I assume they're correct and follow suit.

1) Yes to our playroom couch and the beds upstairs. Other than that, they don't climb/jump on furniture, and they know not to do it at other people's homes.

As for my answers:
1) Yes on couches and chairs and beds at our home, not on tables. And heck no to other places - wasn't thinking about that option when I inquired.
2) Although I am sure Colorado with a short a correct, I say Colorado (the octopus version) and the majority of people I know in this area do. I heard a radio commercial today saying the octopus sound.
Re: I have a few questions...
1. No! He's fallen too many times already.
2. Rah.
1. No. DD will sometime stand/jump on the couch but I always tell her to stop.

1- Absolutely. If I tried to stop them it'd literally be all I did during the day.
2- A as in apple
1) No. As weird as it sounds, I find it to be disrespectful to the furniture. That's not what it was intended for.
2) The second one - the "a" as in "apple".
Cam 6.6.10 - Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Mixed Receptive/Expressive Communication Disorder
1. Sometimes. They like to climb over the back of the couch and faceplant on it.
2. Ra as in apple. I've never heard a Colorado native pronounce it with an "ah" sound.
No

1) DS is too small, but the kids I sit for try to stand, walk and run on my furniture. I put an end to it pretty quickly.
2) a as apple. Sweet DH replaces all the o's with a's like a true Oklahoman, drives me nuts.
