It looks like the "Peanut Shell" sling I just got. not sure though, because I'm not a baby wearing "expert" but I bought one at a rummage sale and it looks similar!

It's some sort of pouch sling (like a peanut shell, hotsling, etc). Pouch slings actually aren't the best choice for small babies as they are not adjustable and it can be difficult to get a safe, comfortable fit. A ring sling (non-padded!!) is a better choice if you want something similar as it allows for adjusting.
It also looks like he's doing a cradle carry - also not the best choice unless you have an experienced person to help you with positioning. An upright tummy to tummy position works in any good carrier including a sling and is much easier to get right. Sweet picture though!
