10 months and still using infant carrier

Apparently that is unheard of in my office.  Co-workers were joking about my 'peanut'.  What can I say... its convenient and she still fits into it.  LOL... same co-workers told me their babies were out of it by 4 or 5 months.

I can't be the only one though.

  • nope! ?we had the bean in hers till 11 months. ?i was bummed to give it up - now when she falls asleep in the car, i either end up waking her up or sitting in there with her for a while. ?boo.

  • We used it at least that long...maybe a little longer.  I loved that thing.  Very convenient.
  • We used our infant carrier until he was a year.  He still met the weight requirements and he fit in it safely.

  • DS is still in his infant carrier b/c the next carseat is for 1 year old AND it cannot face rear-facing.
  • My girls were in theirs until nearly a year.  They were both on the small side and  I didn't want to give my infant carriers up because I loved my double snap-n-go so much.

  • nope, you are not alone! I carried B around in it to stores until about a year, maybe more and she stayed in it in the car until about 15 months.

  • That's about when we switched...only because she looked angry in it.  She would have met the height/weight requirements until she was almost 2!
  • We switched DS right around 10 months.  My niece however is over a year and still in her safeseat.

  • Are their kids older than yours?  When we had DS the weight / height limits were lower than the infant carriers that were around in 2006 or 2007.    So he was out around 4-5 mos. Paige lasted until 6 mos in the same carrier as DS's.

  • we JUST took our infant carrier out, and mainly it was because he hated rear-facing. He could have still used it (the safeseat), though it was getting heavy to lift without waking him up, which takes away from the whole convenience aspect.

  • Skyla was in her until 1 year (she was only 19.5 lbs).  I didn't carry her around in it, but she still used it as a car seat.
  • My dd was 10 months when we switched.  She still fit in it, and I liked being able to easily cover her when carting her in and out of places during the cold winter months, so I kept her in it until March.  It was getting really heavy to carry, though, so I was happy when it was nice enough outside and I switched her.
  • We just stopped using ours at 11 months. Many seats only go to 26" and 20 lbs, which babies grow out of early. Our snugride went to 29" and 22 lbs. The Peg seat goes even higher, I believe...
  • my friend used hers till she was 1 year old.  i have to say though, she had outgrown it, but the mother used it anway.  at a year she was 25 lbs and 31.5 inches.  way too big, but she felt it was easier.
  • We used it to one year.
