baby bathing suits for girls

I have been kinda eyeing bathing suits for girls lately since we will be going to the beach for july 4th (our vacation YAY!!)  and I was thinking back when I was younger and when you have to go to the potty and you had to strip completely down to go or try to pull the suit aside to pee, any how since of coarse lo wont be old enough to go without a diaper i was thinking she will be wearing a water diaper under the swim suit, but all the ones i see are like one pieces and i would have to strip her down just to change her diaper if she were to poo while out at the beach. so my question is have yall see a onesie type bathing suit i dont want her in a two piece to grown up looking for a little girl. but Im trying to think convenient too. also yall are planning on using a swim type diaper too or would you let her go without.id hate for her to potty in it and then have to clean it up or have to leave because of it.

  • Why not get a 2 piece, but if you're nervous about a 2 piece being too "grown up" (which I think is a bit odd, but different strokes for different folks), get one of those short sleeved, waterproof shirts that have SPF, like this:

  • I agree with PPs.  Joy wears a rash guard shirt and swim diaper bottoms.  She's plenty covered up but changing her is a snap.

however long the night, dawn will break.

  • i don't like a lot of two pieces on babies either. A swim shirt like PPs mentioned with the swim diaper works. They also make cute two pieces that cover just as much as a one piece.

I got a one peice and now I am re-thinking that with your comment about changing a poopy diaper in it...

  • DD has a few bathing suits, but if we're going for more than an hour, she wears a swim shirt and swim diaper.

If you do get a one-piece swim suit, I would recommend getting 2 and taking both with you.  If you need to change her after she's wet, it's way easier to put on a dry suit than trying to roll a wet one back up on her.

  • Thanks im going to look around some stores and see what I can find, that is cute, Im thinking of doing some sewing too though, Im thinking about buying a cute one piece and adding snaps at the bottom, and then also having a top for her to wear too like a cover up if needed. i love this... but not sure how well the cover up will work looks kinda hot...

This was my plan with a cute one-piece that we were gifted.

Otherwise, I ordered two swim diapers and a white rash guard that will be her main outfit.

  • DD has a couple cute little zip up suits that are more like little surfer suits (short sleeves/shorts like wetsuits) they were great while we were in FL, they have them at old navy and then like pp we had some that were like bathing suit bottoms and a t-shirt
