Trouble TTC

Diindolylmethane or DIM

Does anyone have any experience with taking this? It's a natural supplement to decrease testosterone in women.

I don't have cysts, but I have so many of the other PCOS symptoms.

Thanks!

Re: Diindolylmethane or DIM

  • I take DIM.  But it's my understanding that it rids the body of excess "bad" estrogens like xenoestrogens and promotes healthy estrogen levels, not testosterone levels.  People with endometriosis typically have high estrogen levels.  You're right that many PCOS sufferers have higher levels of testosterone/androgens but I'm not sure DIM will help with that.  I've only had one side effect and have been taking it for months now and it was a good side effect - I started losing weight easier almost immediately! Smile  Keeping in mind though, that I don't have PCOS, but I do have endometriosis and hypothyroidism. HTH!

  • Losing weight sounds like a blessing!

Hopefully my doctor can give me some more direction. My hormones are definitely out of whack, but they say my thyroid is OK and that I don't have PCOS, just the slight excess belly weight that makes it nearly impossible to lose anything.

    Thanks!
