How are you ladies preparing for your LO? Are you buying some onsies beforehand? Or are you holding off on buying any clothing until the baby is born? I'm starting to get nervous about not having any baby clothes yet with 12.5 weeks to go. (We are also moving at the end of June) How much clothing do you have if you have bought any at all? TIA!

Re: Team Green Wardrobe Question
When DD was born, we had NOTHING. I was gonna go pick up jammies and onesies but she came a bit earlier than expected, so we ended up buying one of those fugly (and way too big) pajamas from the hospital and stopping by Walmart on our way home.
We had a total of maybe 5 onesies and 5 pajamas in NB size, and a little more than that in 0-3. That was plenty to get us started. Plus once people knew that it was a girl, we started getting presents and hand-me-downs and hardly needed to buy anything at all.
I'm excited to be team green, but so many of the gender neutral outfits are just so blah.
I figure I will wait and see what I get for my shower (lots of yellow and green I'm sure) and if I need a few white onsies to supplement that then I will run out and get those.
I figure for the first few weeks the baby doesn't really need "outfits" just some basics. By the time they are old enough to wear outfits he/she can come shopping and get the appropriate blue/pink items.
We were team Green for #1 (found out with #2) and are pleased to be back on team Green again for #3.
It's fun.
For #1, I was panicked about not having enough clothes. I bought a bunch of green, yellow and white stuff to have ready for when the baby was born. Then I had a girl... and I was no way going to dress her in green, yellow or white.
) I wanted pink and purple! Thankfully, everyone and their mother bought us clothes when she was born and I was suddenly overwhelmed with cute girly stuff. Also, I discovered that shopping with a newborn? Is awesome. It lets you get out of the house (which personally, I was dying to do by the time she was about a week old), put the baby in stroller and just go and enjoy yourself. Bonus: you'll also know what size clothes you need. I was told to expect a preemie sized baby, and ended up with an over 8lb chunka baby. You can also leave the baby with your DH for an hour and run to Target - which feels *fab* after being cooped up in a hospital, then at home for awhile. Ah, the little things in life!
)
This time around, I have stuff for either a boy or a girl because of my other two kids, but I still bought a couple of new cute things that are gender-specific. You can always return, give away, or save the outfits for the gender you don't need right now. HTH!
I have 5 short sleeve gender-neutral onesies (paid $2.50 for the pack on clearance at Target), 10 white onesies, and about 8 sleepers total ranging from 0-3 mos to 6-9 mos. Mose of the sleepers were either gifts or I purchased with Kohl's bucks, so they really didn't cost me anything.
I don't plan on buying anything else until after LO is born. I will be curious to see if I get many clothes at my showers, but I kind of doubt it since we are team green.
I have way too many newborn gender nuetral things right now... baby will probably get to wear each thing only one time....
I do find the gender nuetral to be more boy specific, but will work and can make cute with a bow or something for a girl if that happens to be. We do have a couple of things that are gender specific and when it gets closer to my due date I will buy a few things and leave tags on, just so I have them, but am able to return what we won't need. It is definitely a struggle, especially when you see such cute outfits on the shelves that are gender specific!
I've been to two team green showers recently and they both received very little clothing so I did some garage saling and picked up only really new/unused gender neutral clothing. And then I also stopped at two second hand shops and did the same thing.
I spent under $50 and got a full laundry basket of items. I focused on sleeping gowns with the fold overs for the hands, kimono t-shirst, a few short sleeved onsies, a few tank top onsies, a few sleepers and a couple three-piece outfits. All in green, yellow, white, teal, brown and orange.
