Help me decide on a coming home outfit!

What do you ladies think of something like this as her coming home outfit? https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11108310

I have been going back and forth on this so much, that I finally just need to order something! I want her to be comfy but still cute. But is this too plain?

Also, if you have any other suggestions, please share! I'd love to see what you all are bringing your little one home in :)

Re: Help me decide on a coming home outfit!

  • I think that is perfect!  I love that it has a matching hat and looks comfortable.  I kept looking at cute outfits and then decided to go with a sleeper that we got at our shower, for the cuteness AND comfort.  I don't know where it's from so I can't PIP, but it's similar to the one you posted, but in yellow.

  • I think it is adorable and you should go with it! I love the ruffles on the sleeves and the matching hat. I have a sleeper and hat with ducks on it I think I will use as his coming home outfit. It's the first thing I bought for LO before I knew the gender and it's still one of my favs :)

  • Very cute! It's way too hot for it here, but I'm guessing it won't be over 100 in Ohio when you have her?

You know, I've been thinking about that, but since she'll be going from an air conditioned hospital to an air conditioned car, I am hoping she'll be fine?!

I am also in Columbus, and who knows....it could one be 50 that day! lol. But I plan on putting Baby P in a pants outfit as well for the same reason. From one ac place to another and then to our ac'd house. I think pants are the best bet especially since she will only be outside for a few short seconds.

  • To be honest, I think it's cute, but not special.  Both my coming home outfits (one NB size, one 0-3) are shower gifts that came from boutique shops.  Have you tried looking for anything like that?

Here is a link to the brand that made one of our outfits.  They have ridiculously cute stuff.

I have two monogrammed mud pie onesies but I am really not a fan of their sizing. Everything is 0-6 months, and I doubt it'll fit a newborn. The two onesies I have look huge next to all of our other newborn stuff.

I really hate you right now Smile  I too wanted something boutique dressy and could not find anything tiny enough.  So I finally settled on a cute sleeper from Macy's after months of looking and now you got me second guessing myself again.  I am not happy with you Kimbo Indifferent

  • I think that'd be perfect! Since we're going straight home, and it's less than a 15 minute drive, I didn't go crazy over it... I mean, really... she probably won't even be in it very long because of how hot it will be here in NC...

This is the one I got:

And I made my own beanie hat for her to wear home... I put cucakes on it to match the sleeper. =) (I *love* cupcakes!)

Oh no! I am so sorry vig. I was only tying to help. Mine were gifts so I'm not sure where they came from. :(
  • I think that's really cute! I think going all out with dresses and frills is a little too much unless you are having a coming home party - in which case - more power to you! lol. That will NOT be me!

Yah. I'm not sure who made the new born outfit. I don't think it was mud pies. For the record. I really do think the outfit is cute. I think it just depend on the style you are looking for. I guess I wanted something a little frillier. I dont think anyone would look at her in it and think she looks anything but adorable!
  • I think it's perfect.......I'm sending my LO home in a colorful Carter's onesie/romper and her little Trumpette bow socks.  I just don't want to put her in anything itchy or scratchy or uncomfortable, since I'm sure that going through birth and her new surroundings will be traumatic enough for her.

  • I have this outfit!  Can't wait to put my LO in it!  Definately taking my LO home in something similar to this.  I would rather have her be comfy than all dressed up to sit in a car for 30 minutes.  There's plenty of time and events to go all out and dress her up in my opinion!
