It finally happened.....

LO got up on her own twice this morning midnight and 4 am to feed (I let her sleep and didn't wake her). A little back history: LO arrived 3 weeks early and because she's under 6 lbs the doctor and LC insisted that I wake her up every 3 hours to feed (I'm the one that has been posting about being told to time my feedings). I posted yesterday that I was confused with the mixed messages that I received about BF and timing and everyone agreed it seemed odd. M's been gaining weight but still isn't at birth weight so I was getting a little frustrated. Any ways I took the advice of those that said let her sleep and when she's hungry she'll let me know (confession: I was afraid that she wouldn't). Don't know if it's because she's at the 3 week growth spurt yet or that she's finally closer to her due date (5/22) and it clicked that when she's hungry she needs to wake up but this morning she woke up crying and feeding was instant. Just wanted to let everyone know that we surpassed a huge challenge...it feels so good that I needed to share. Thanks to everyone that told me to hang in there and that LO would let me know when she's hungry. Yeah!!!!!!
