Scary..........
One of our neighbors who is a sheriff just asked us if we had all the essentials we would need for the next 3-4 days. He is going door to door in our neighborhood.
He said that if we didn't that he would suggest going and getting our tanks full and groceries so that we did not need to be out and about for the next few days with the election , COGIC convention and with the KKK rally going on.
This is our first year out in the "holler" so I am slightly weirded out by his warning.

It doesn't surprise me though...DH and I sometimes get comments etc. from people b/c *gasp* we are an inter-racial couple. SAD.
That's so sad=( My friend who is white was told by her parents to tell everyone that her African American boyfriend was "just a friend" when they first started dating. LAME. I cannot believe how horrible people can be.

I remember when I was in high school we would see the KKK marching in a grocery store parking lot. Scary shit.

my second step dad was Filipino and my mom while Mexican/French looked white (red hair, green eyes) they would get really horrible things yelled at them. Sickening hearing people talk about your parents that way when you are 10.
Just sayin' I do believe blue states have racism and KKK sects also. They are not void of hate crimes....

Shoot..I remember watching some history channel thing and KKK used to be (maybe still is) bad in parts of Indiana...Muncie specifically is what I remembered! I'm sure its better now...all states are somewhat better, I think...but Indiana still scares me!!!
