Gift for daycare providers?

Wednesday is Adrian's last day at his Mother's Day Out program and I was thinking to bring a gift for his two teachers, whom he loves and are sooo good to him. What do you think is appropriate? I was thinking a cake since that's something they can share. But what about also giving each of them a small token? Any ideas?

Re: Gift for daycare providers?

  • Perhaps a small Starbucks gift card?  That's always my last minute/go-to gift for people I'm stumped on for a gift.

I like Target GCs because be it a movie, book or TP, everyone can use something from Target.  Plus a small amount can still go a long way.

  • We just did gift cards to a pizza place that is around the corner from the daycare so they could pick up dinner on their way home.
  • Chocolate!  At least that's what I would want!

  • Voting for Starbucks GC. Not sure about cake: some people could be on a diet.

  • Coming from a child care provider for 12 years its great to hear you want to get them a gift. Something as small as a 10$ gc to target is so appreciated. Or a candle or bath lotion with a cute thank you note. You will make their day..
  • Similar to the Starbucks idea, I am a big fan of the Dunkin Donuts gift card for people I don't know too personally.  There's something for everyone, it's more of a treat than something that can be used on necessities, and it goes a long way.
  • We separate by time spent with child....primary get 20 cash each half year and secondary get 10 in gift card (we are only close to dunkin d).  The cash is not meant as a copout but what I think they can use most (their work is so underpaid but I cannot afford more)....that said anything you do will be most appreciated.
  • When I worked in pre-k, the gifts that meant the most were the personalized ones. Perhaps you can get a cute abc or ruler picture frame with a special thank you note in the photo part to go with a gift card or cash. Or maybe a picture of your baby as the flower with baby's handprints on a flower pot.

What a cute idea. Unfortunately I read your post too late but I did attach a wallet-size photo of LO to the Target $10 gift cards I got, and then I attached that to a little gift set of body wash, lotion and sponge. It's so cute, I hope they like it. Thanks everyone for your ideas!
