Anyone listen to audiobooks when working out?

Since I'm going to try to do some of my walking/jogging outdoors next week instead of on the treadmill.  I'm trying to get motivated and I find myself getting bored when I just listen to music.  I'm going to give audiobooks (which I love listening to around the house) a try.  Just wanted to see if anyone else runs/jogs/walks and listens to books.

I'm thinking of jumping on this really good idea. I hear Sarah Vowell and David Sedaris do their own narration....and Stephen Frye did the Harry Potters....there's good stuff to be had.

I always run with audiobooks and get to 'read' so much that way. I get my books from audible.com, currently listening to Ken Follett, The Fall of Giants. Great book.

  • I've listened to two books (so far) while walking/running on the treadmill. Real easy to get "lost" in the book.

  • I love audio books. I don't work out to them, since I ride my bike on city streets and that sounds...dangerous. I do listen to them in the car and love them!

  • I don't listen to audio books but I do listen to podcasts. I love them--keeps my mind off how much I hate exercise!
