Re: The SAHM Book Club Weekly Check-In
Hello!
3/12 CR - Happiest Toddler on the Block
LBR - Safe Haven
LBR: Deception Point
Mrs.Hizzo - 16 CR
Still on Fall of Giants, really entertaining so far. I also read Smart Discipline and The War Play Dilemma this week.
64/111
This week I read The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss and it was amazing! I also read The King's Daughter by Christie Dickason (a good historical fiction book about Princess Elizabeth, daughter of King James) and A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray (a fun, supernatural book set in a 19th century finishing school for girls in England). Now I'm reading 666 Park Avenue and it's okay so far but I'm not loving it.
I've read 10/20
CR: Crazy Love
LBR: Winter Garden

Haven't had much time to read
, still working on Marrying Daisy Bellamy. I hope i can finish it up this week!
LBR: The Stand
Wow, I haven't updated in quite a while!
I finished Knit the Season (meh, ok, quick read), First Family by David Baldacci (pretty good, first book I've read by this author), and The Pact by Jodi Piccoult (very good - recommend it!).
Now I'm reading She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. It's about 900 pages, so I'll probably be reading it for a while!!!
hs & js baby #1 12/25 CR: She's Come UndoneLBR: The Pact by Jodi Piccoult9/25 - CR: In the Heart of the Sea - The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex
LBR: The Intimate Lives of the Founding Fathers.
Hi there! I just finished The Help and LOVED it.
I'm currently reading
Mini Shopaholic. So far it's really funny and good...lol. I usually read serious books so this is a nice break!
10/50
CR: Custard's Last Stand by Tamar Myers. It's a book club book and it's TERRIBLE. I am only reading it until my next book comes in at the library. Any day now... ugh.
LBR: Anna and the French Kiss. Very cute, fast read.
My CR is the same but I reread a favorite as my sister and I are going to see the movie tomorrow night! So my count is now 7/20.
CR: Signs of Life (paused to do a reread, started up again)
LBR: Something Borrowed
DD#1~8/17/96------DS~10/24/05
I LOVED A Thousand Spendid Suns, I actually enjoyed it more than The Kite Runner. Can't wait to hear what you thought of it.
16/50
LBR: Alphabet Sisters by Monica McInerney. Not really my style, was lent to me by my nona so I felt I had to finish it...we usually have the similar taste in reading material.
CR: The Mammoth hunters by Jean Auel...third book in his Earth's Children series. I find these book interesting, but need to take a break in between.
So far so good! I'm about 1/2 way through.
Me too. I think because it's an insight into that culture from the women's perspective.
Hey y'all!
I'm still reading Gone With the Wind.
LBR: The Red Queen
11/24
FYI, Jean Auel is a woman.
Anyhoo, I finished My Life in France (tres interesting!), and am now on 9/25, Julie and Julia, which is a fun, fast read.
I'm now on #20 out of #25 and am thinking of upping my goal.
LBR: Neverwhere
CR: Anna and the French Kiss
I finished Midwives by Chris Bohjalian. It was pretty good. I also read Bossypants by Tina Fey, which was really funny. There were quite a few moments where I actually LOLed, which I rarely do while reading a book. I'm at 26/60 for the year.
I'm currently reading The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. It's YA, which is a genre that I've started to read a little bit more of. I'm about 1/3 of the way through it and I like it.
How are/were these books? The titles sound interesting and right up my alley.
Thx!
