We use bumpers (gasp!). DD moves around a lot in her sleep and when I go in there in the morning she's got her knees up to her chest and her feet in the air pressing up against the bumper, which means that if we didn't have bumpers her legs would be stuck between the slats. Between the fan and A/C I'm not too worried about stale air. We also have her Sound B Gentle Giraffe tucked away in the corner that she never goes in.
On top of her crib sheet, I have a dirty pillowcase, so she can smell H & I while she sleeps. It sounds gross, but I notice a HUGE, HUGE difference in her sleep. I also have a thin blanket (an Aden & Anais swaddle blanket atm) , because she's very into fabric... it helps her gets to sleep, and if she doesn't have something she can rub on her face she'll flip over and bury her face in/suck on her mattress.
We also have an unbreakable mirror on one side and a fisher price rainforest deelie that makes noise and moves and crap.
She has a super soft stuffed bunny that she loves, but I'm too chicken to leave it in there with her yet. Again with the 'super into textiles and buries her face' thing. heh.
Thats interesting about the pillow case, a good idea!
I also have the rainforrest thing on the side of the crib. Thats about it. I do have a couple of books under the top of the mattress to get her at the ever so slightest incline. It really isnt noticable much, but i swear she has acid reflux.
pillow under the mattress to act as a wedge. No bumber (only because there isn't room with the mattress so high) and some rolled up receiving blankets that I push up against him so he feels snuggled. He is still swaddled so I am not worried about his face getting caught. No mobiles or anything else.

DH and I will sleep with a receiving blanket in our bed and every time we change the crib sheets we lay that down on the mattress then put the clean sheet over it. Once we started doing that, DS started STTN. There isn't anything else in his crib at night other than him.
I have the crib sheet, a comforter, two pillows, and a bumper...basically everything but the baby. He's been sleeping in our room (he's 3 mo) and I'm planning on transitioning him soon. I'll probably end up taking out the pillows only.
There is a bumper on the crib. Elise also falls asleep with a lovey but I take it away from her face after she's sleeping. It stays in the crib though just not right by her head.
WOW! I think my LO spoiled she has a memory foam topper only bc she got used to sleeping in our bed and would not sleep without it. a fleece no sew blanket, a bear w/ speaker in the foot and my IPOD attached. She is not rolling over yet so I guess I will adjust her bed when she starts!
There is a sheet and a fisher price ocean wonders crib soother on the rail thats it. If we have a problem with him putting his arms or legs thru the slats he will get breathable bumpers. There is also a mobile once he stands I will remove it.
Nothing except DS. He likes to chew on fabric and I'm afraid he'll fall asleep with something in his face. He's a boy, he was a preemie and he's 4.5 months old; as I understand it those all put him at elevated risk right now for SIDS. Not currently worth it to my family to put anything else in there.
the AAP would have a fit if they saw how Simon sleeps. We have bumpers, the sheet, a drool pad that ties across one section of the mattress, a white noise player and teddy bear down at the end by his feet, and he sleeps with a blanket over his legs and a snuggie in his arms.

We have breathable bumpers, and that's all (eta: we have a mobile too.) We transitioned him from the PNP to the crib at 8 weeks. At first he slept in a swaddleme, but now he sleeps in a sleepsack.
We have breathable bumpers, sheet, sheet saver, and Scout usually hangs out in one of the corners. I wish Everett would spend more than two hours at a time in there...
