I still don't have much of a bump to speak of. Which is why I suppose they don't feel the need to measure it yet. I don't remember when the measuring started with DD. Just curious.

I don't remember from my first pregnancy! At my 16wk appt they felt the top of my uterus (about halfway between my pelvis and belly button) but didn't measure with the tape. I go next week for my 20 wk appt, so we shall see!
My MW measured me at my 12 week appointment. My stomach was still completely flat and she said "You're measuring right at 12 weeks." I thought that was funny since I had no bump to speak of

she just did it for the first time at my 21 week appointment. she's always felt around my belly (assuming just feeling around for my uterus) but this was the first time she's actually got out a tape measure haha
At my last appt (18wks) my doctor mentioned that she would be doing it at the next one. My next one is this Friday and I will be 22w5d. So you will probably have the first one sometime between 20 weeks and 24 weeks?
They aren't measuring your "bump". They are measuring your uterus. You don't have to be showing for them to measure your ute. My OB feels mine at every appointment to look for appropriate growth, but she has yet to measure it.
My first measurement was at 16w. My Doctor even made some comment about how I was probably surprised that it was already time to start measuring. This is my first, so I didn't think anything of it. From looking at other posts on here, it was pretty early.
