If you're new, let us know the basics - when did you start TTC, what is your diagnosis/suspicion, where are you at in the process/next steps? Please let us know if you have upcoming treatments, so we can check in with you on a more regular basis during that time. Also read this check-in often the first week it is posted so we can answer everyone's questions. (It seems prolonged to have someone ask a question in this post and not have it answered until next month's check-in!) Finally, if you have suggestions about what else should be included in the check-in or changes, throw them out there!

Questions:
1) Where are you at in the process/what is your next step?
2) What are you doing fun this month that is non-IF related?
3) Any vents/confessions?
4) Any questions you'd like to ask the other ladies?
Re: May Infertility Check-In (SAIFW)
Questions:
1) Where are you at in the process/what is your next step? DH finally has a urologist appointment at the end of this month; I'm very excited to be moving forward again on infertility stuff. We recently had a 1:1 appointment with a social worker at an adoption agency so we could get more of our questions answered and figure out if the agency was a good fit for us. I left feeling really disappointed; I'm not sure if it's the right agency for us. So we are scheduled to go to an info session at another agency in June.
2) What are you doing fun this month that is non-IF related? My parents are visiting at the end of the month, so I'm sure we'll eat a lot, drink a lot, and go to fun places.
3) Any vents/confessions? I feel like I don't "have my stripes" as an infertile because we haven't done any treatments or many tests yet. It makes me a little sad that I can't contribute more to conversations because I haven't been on any medications or tried IUI. Being out of pocket (and therefore delaying necessary tests) and then probably having IVF as our only option means that I am missing so many "classic" infertility steps.
4) Any questions you'd like to ask the other ladies? I'm going through a particularly bad spell emotionally right now. I can still function and even have fun every once in awhile, so I wouldn't say I'm truly depressed. But the sadness feeling is definitely the prevailing emotion right now. Any thoughts about how long is too long to feel sad before getting help?
1) Where are you at in the process/what is your next step? 11dpiui #4. I was going to wait until tomorrow to test, but tested this morning which was negative. I know it's still early, so I'll give it a few more days, but emotionally I'm done. Next step is probably IVF. We have a consult with PNWF later this month, and I'm going to set up a meeting with URC as well, to see what our options would be at the different clinics, and will probably move forward with that at the end of July. Unless this cycle ends up working out of course, but I'm not holding my breath.
2) What are you doing fun this month that is non-IF related? I got DH a float trip on the Yakima River with fly fishing lessons for his birthday, and I'm going to go with him on that. Otherwise, the Beat the Bridge Run next week, and probably hiking and/or camping on Memorial Day weekend. Trying to keep busy...
3) Any vents/confessions? K--I totally feel like you do, but not because of our lack of treatments. I feel like I'm some sort of infertility imposter because we don't have a diagnosis. I know it's ridiculous, because clearly *something* is wrong. But despite all the testing, nothing, which makes me wonder why we are doing all this. How do we know we are fixing anything, if nothing is wrong?
I don't think there is anything "classic" about IF. It's a different experience for different people, which is one reason I like the group we have here. Everyone is coming at it from a different perspective and has something to add to our experiences.
4) Any questions you'd like to ask the other ladies? How do you keep IF from taking over your life? I think this break will help, but I'm afraid even while on the break I won't be able to stop obsessing. This can't be healthy.

April IVF Spring Chicks
Sorry about your struggles. My husband & I are currently seeing a doctor at PNWF. We've been with them for over a year. We did 3 IUIs and now we are moving to IVF. They are some of the best doctors and nurses that I've come in contact with. Everyone is very friendly and willing to explain things in a way we can understand.
Good luck!
Questions:
1) Where are you at in the process/what is your next step? waiting waiting waiting! Beta is Friday the 20th. We transfered 1 little dude and have 4 on ice.
2) What are you doing fun this month that is non-IF related? friends visiting his weekend which will help with the waiting game
3) Any vents/confessions? OMG I"ve gained so much weight. The infertile weight, then the drugs, the not working out, the stress eating. I've never been this big in my life.
4) Any questions you'd like to ask the other ladies?
Like a PP said, there's definitely nothing 'classic' about infertility steps since every diagnosis and treatment is different depending on the couple and diagnosis (or lack thereof). I also felt like I missed a lot of steps since we basically went from no oral meds working to injectibles making my ovaries go crazy and having to move directly to IVF. We also never had a diagnosis .. so I feel like I'm back at square one start TTC #2 (even though we aren't technically trying yet, we also haven't prevented since H was born 14 months ago).
I had a REALLY hard time emotionally through our entire IF journey. I'm not really sure how long "too" long is to feel sad/depressed, but it is very good that you are still able to have fun and enjoy other aspects of your life, because I really wasn't able to at all. I have a hx of depression though and was on meds before we started TTC. If you are feeling down more often than not for more than 2 weeks, that would technically be considered depression .. but I think it all depends on how well you can function and how it is affecting your life. IF is SOOO hard and it's hard to find anyone that understands .. I was about to join either a resolve group or find a specific IF counselor before we started IVF, so that's definitely an option for anyone that wants assistance with the emotional aspect of IF.
You are definitely not an IF imposter
I kind of feel the same way though because I never techinically had a dx when we ttc #1 and I am still having the same issues (annovulatory/no periods..) but have never been dx with a 'problem' and everyone seems to think things will just 'start working.' .. It is very frustrating to say the least. Like you said - there is nothing 'classic' about IF and everyone is coming from different perspectives - which makes things nice for sure!
To answer how to keep IF from taking over your life, I am not much help, I was SO obsessed and depressed through our entire journey and had a hard time enjoying any other aspects of my life. Although taking time alone with DH and not talking about anything IF helped a bit - especially if you are able to take a vacation or weekend away. I hope you are able to find something that helps you!
Nothing new here.
Questions:
