Just a cold...

Last week Wednesday at our infant massage class (held at an elementary school), they announced that one of the kids was diagnosed with fifth disease. On Thursday, DS had his 2 month shots. He was acting mostly normal Thurs and Fri, aside from sleeping a bit more, so I thought we were in the clear. Saturday and Sunday he was super fussy, not eating quite as much (though still having wet and dirty diapers). He started sneezing more, coughing, wheezing etc...After sleeping in the beco carrier on us, his cheek was super red and he had what looked like a rash all over his face and the back of his neck, into his hair. I was starting to really worry but he didn't have a fever or I'd have taken him to emergency right away.

I called his doctor this morning and we got in right away this afternoon. The doctor is pretty sure he'd be immune to fifth disease (even though I'm not bfing anymore, he should be protected from the antibodies I did give him), thinks its possible he had a mild reaction to the shots but is 99% certain he just has a cold.

As much as it sucks to see my baby unhappy and struggling to breathe, this was exactly what I wanted to hear. Now I can focus on just comforting him and helping him breathe better!

Aww, poor little guy. Our DD had a cold at 5wks. It's so hard to see them not feeling well.
