Mom of the year...

So DS can roll now, and he rolled right off our bed this morning! He was sleeping, I laid him on the bed so I could go pee, and then I heard a thump and then crying.. I feel awful! He was fine as soon as I held him and rocked him. After the calmed down I checked him out and fed him. Everything looked ok and he seems fine now. I can't believe he rolled off, but lesson learned. I'm such a bad mommy.

By the way, this was the first time he rolled..

Oh no you're not! Just yesterday, I woke up to DH flipping sh!t that the volume on the monitor was turned all the way down and DS was crying in his room like a maniac- way to go, mom! God only knows how long that was going on for- I'd rather not think about it- I switched it to mute when I got up to feed him at one point during the night (in an effort to not disrupt DH and the dogs, mind you). HA. Point is, we're all in this together- mishaps are going to happen- we'll learn & LOs will be just fine.

In the middle of the night last night I was completely asleep when I thought I heard DD poop (we bedshare). But I was so tired, and she NEVER poops overnight, so I talked myself into believing that it was just a toot. This morning DH changed her diaper and found that she had a huge blowout all dried to her back and jammies, nevermind the stuff in her dipes. Poor baby...slept in her doody for like 4 hours because mommy was tired...

Glad he's ok. I've talked to so many Moms who have had something like this happen. Doesn't make you a bad Mommy - makes you human!

I still put LO smack in the middle of our King Size bed when I go to the bathroom. I figure she would have to roll several times to make it to the edge. LOL She's nowhere close to rolling over yet - but maybe one of these days she'll surprise me.

Good thing our LOs don't expect us to be perfect Big Smile None of us are!!

thanks ladies! i needed he support, i know this won't be the last time i feel super guilty about somethng. i think i was worried about what dh was going to say-he tends to be critical, but i'm sure he'll just be glad everyone is ok.

ds is now smiling at me as he nurses.. so he is over it!

Totally not a bad mom! Things happen, we are only human.

I get the award for "dropping" him! He was on his changing table and was sitting up. I had my arms near his sides encase he tipped over, which I knew he would since he cant sit up alone unassisted. Well he decided to pull a launchpad mcquack and threw himself backwards. I tried to catch him and he smacked his noodle on the side of the changing table. He didn't fall off thank god but I totally failed to catch him even with my arms basically around him! I cried off and on all night saying I was a bad mom.

To top it off he had crap halfway up his back , we were waiting for dh to bring me a target bag to conceal the stink. DH was standing right there watching as I said, "look how well he is sitting up!" FAIL!

I usually sleep with her in my bed and she woke up to nurse and I always have my cell connected to the charger so i can use the light from the cell to see what I am doing at night. I dont like to turn on the lights in fear of actually waking her up. But last night I forgot to connect the phone to the charger and as i reached to get my phone to connect it I accidentally dropped it on her head. I turned it on and saw her make a sad face and begin to cry. i picked her up right away and gave her kisses all over her head. Good thing she didnt get a bump and just nursed and fell back asleep no problem. So i should get the bad mommy award
