G is 16 months. He's been drinking water in his sippy cup since about 6 months. We started on straw cups and then regular sippy cups.
He LOVES his water. He also LOVES his milk, but refuses to drink milk in the sippy. He seemed to do it for a couple of weeks and then stopped. I'm not sure if it's a comfort thing. He gets a bottle in the morning and at night and I snuggle with him, but I continued to snuggle him with the sippy cup.
Any ideas? I want him to drink his milk, but don't want him to be on a bottle until he's 12

DD was the same way. I tried to wean her off the bottle but she wasn't having it. Finally, I took her into the kitchen a couple weeks ago and threw all her bottles away while she watched. I gave her a couple of days to adjust to drinking milk from a cup but she would still only sip it. now i add a teaspoon of vanilla nesquick to her milk and she drinks it all that way twice a day.
I asked pedi about this at our 12 month visit a couple weeks ago cause DD is the same way. She said this is really common with most kids and you just have to go cold turkey on the bottles and only offer milk and water in the sippys from there on. She said it usually takes a couple days or maybe a week but she has never known a kid to not take milk from a sippy if there are no other alternatives. I asked her if I should be worried about her not getting her milk intake those first few days and she said nope she will be fine.
We are getting ready to do this next week, I still need to buy some more sippy cups to send to daycare first.
Mine was doing the same thing. She'd drink maybe an ounce all day of milk from a cup, but would drink plenty from a bottle. After MANY different cups, I finally got this: https://www.diapers.com/products/Nuby-Gripper-Sippy-Cup-6755?site=CI&utm_source=CSE&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=Google&utm_content=pla&ci_sku=NY-002&ci_gpa=pla&ci_kw={keyword}
It worked like a charm! Now she'll drink milk cold or warm (we do warm in the morning) from that or any sippy cup.
