Puke flu...long...vent...

My DD has had the flu since Wednesday.  She started with vomiting and then diarrhea.  She can't keep anything in her.  By Friday night she was so limp, eyes sunken, fever, and puking again.  DH and I took her into ER because everything was closed, and we didn't know what to do. I wanted them to give her fluids for dehydration.  She went ballistic when she figured out we were at the hospital.  I don't know where this animal came from.  Screaming, flailing her arms, saying that she wasn't sick and didn't have a fever.  The Dr. didn't even hardly examine her.  He said that if she was dehydrated, she wouldn't be acting like that. (Agreed).  He gave her an antiemetic and sent us home.  She immediately went limp and has been since, with more diarrea.  She can't keep anything in.  He said the flu is going around and this strain is lasting 5 -8 days. Today was day 5 for us.  I pray that she is showing signs of improvment tomorrow. Her last bout was at 3 today...and kept chicken broth and pedialyte in for a late snack. This kid is going to waste away...I feel so helpless and don't know what to do. 

In addition...my DH started with the diarrhea this morning.  He laid on the couch all day and was not himself.  Couldn't eat anything.  Shaking, fever...wiped out.

And now....DS is moaning that his tummy hurts....I just laid towels down in his bedroom and in his bed.  Forseeing that I'll be cleaning up after him soon too.

I am SO SICK of cleaning up puke, poop and feeling so helpless. I don't want to jinks myself, but I am the only one who hasn't had it.  I've been chugging AirBorne with probiotics since Wednesday.  I don't know if I can do this anymore.  I don't know how to help my family.  I don't want to get sick...what am I going to do if I get sick.  This bug is so nasty. Where in the world did it come from?

Anyone else got this flu that is going around?  How are you coping?

Anyone can be cool, but awesome takes practice!

    Oh girl. That sounds horrible!

    We had it back in Jan, it went through all 4 of us (DS only had diarrhea) But ours only lasted a day or two. I cannot imagine 5! eeek!

    I remember feeling like you did, constantly cleaning, worried about every little noise they make- thinking they were about to puke. It was like we were ina germ cloud, yuck!

     But a couple days later, everyone was fine. Just remember- THIS too shall pass!!

    You have got to be at the end of it!

    Poor little pumpkin :(

    I would be stressing too....hope everyone gets better really soon!!!
