Hi ladies!
Just curious what everyone is doing for exercise...
I take spinning classes, but now have to keep my HR down around 140..which is really tough! I was playing soccer, but decided to call it quits, even though I'm just 7 weeks along, I don't want to risk anything happening.
Looks like I'll have to get a Heart Rate Monitor soon!
Hope everyone is having a great day.
Re: What do you do for exercise?
I take cardio and strength training classes at the Y a few times a week.
Why do you have to keep your heart rate down?
HI!
I ride my excercise bike and i'm going to start back up with prenatal yoga. And walking my furry baby comes in handy, too. So between the three I'll be doing something every day.
And yes, it's very important to keep the heart rate below 140
chase my 18 month old around! best work out ever
i yell "i'm going to get you!" and he just runs like the wind!!!! this is for hours when i get home from work. i'm exhausted when i go back into the house
I got this heart rate monitor from Amazon. I wanted something on the cheaper side, but reliable. I probably won't use it much after baby comes. It's gone up in price though, I only paid $35. It got good reviews, so hopefully I will like it.
I use the elliptical and do light running on the treadmill or with my dog. Before I got pregnant, I was running long distance intervals so I feel like a total lazy bones now.

I enjoy walking, and do about 2-3 miles a day, 4-5 days a week. I live on a huge hill, so this can be a great workout! I don't have a heartbeat monitor, but I walk with a friend. If I'm able to carry on a conversation, I know I'm okay. When I get too winded, I know to slow my pace a bit.
I also use a resistance band for my arms and legs instead of using weights.
I joined Curves right before I got pregnant and I am continuing with them. I like it because it is self pace and I can push myself as hard as I want. This helps when being pregnant because I am more in control of my heart rate and I can slow down if needed.

20 min on treadmill walking uphill and then 15-20 min of light weights.
Prebaby i was doing abotu 45 min of cardio plus weights....so I toned it down a bit but it's helping me stay in shape better and keep some definition so far. @ nearly 12 weeks i've only gained .4lbs --and yes I will brag about that b/c with my first i stopped working out at the beginning and I gained like 50lbs! I'm determined NOT to have that happen this time!!
