Baby Names

Which name flows better with DD's name...

DD's name is Emilee Lucille.

The two names we are contemplating are :  Beatrice Sylvia (Beatrice after my grandmother and Sylvia after DH's)  or Elsie Irene (My aunts name and my DH's grandmothers middle name.)

DD's name came from my aunt and my grandmothers first name.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated also!

Beatrice Sylvia for sure. Elsie and Emilee are too matchy IMO.

  • I really like both names, but I think Elsie Irene flows better. Athough, wasn't Elsie a popular cow who advertised dairy products? I like the name but something to think about. I wouldn't want any fuel for my daughter to be called a cow.....maybe go with Beatrice!

  • I guess I'm alone on this one so far...but I like Elsie Irene better with your DD's name. I'm not a big fan of Beatrice...

i would switch it a little and go with beatrice irene [sylvia is pretty but the S sound with beatrice doesn't flow as well as it does with irene].

  • Depends how you pronounce Beatrice, if you say it like Bah-trice fine but Beat-tris would not be my choice. I like Elise Irene, and I see you have honored your side with your first DD's name. Might be nice to spread the family name on other members.
  • Beatrice is just sounds TOO old, and not in a cute little girl way! IMO and Elsie reminds me of the Borden's Milk Cow.Go to fullsize image

    How about Elise instead.

  • Beatrice Irene sounds the best I think. Plus it still honors his grandmother.

I think Elsie and Emilee sound too similar for sibs.

  • Sylvia Beatrice sounds better to me.

  • My DD's name is Emma, She has a very good friend named Beatrice w/ a NN Bea.  So it's natural sounding now to say Emma and Bea.
