DD uses straw cups like a pro for water during meals and throughout the day. She gets 2 sippy cups of milk a day. Right now she is using a soft spout cup and we'd like her to switch to a hard spout cup.
Tell me about your experience. How did you do it? Any advice? Thanks!

Except if you started LO with a soft spout, it's not so easy to just give them the new one. I have all kinds of hard spout sippys. We gave her a hard one the other day, she tried it, and dropped it. So I tried the hard approach, and refused to give her the soft one, figuring she would pick up the hard one eventually. Yea, didn't end well. I would rather have her drink from the soft one than refuse the hard one. I should have just gone straight to the hard one from the get go, but she was teething and her gums were sore.
It's really not just as simple as handing them the new cup. My daughter really prefers her milk in a soft spouted sippy. I wish we had never started on them now, but at the time they seemed like a good transition cup. My daughter will cry for the soft spouted cups. When she sees one, she will point at it and cry "Milk, milk, milk." She will drink milk out of a hard spouted sippy, but she's not happy about it. I have to offer it to her repeatedly. Right now she gets one sippy of milk a day in a soft spouted cup, because I want to make sure she drinks enough milk. I am considering just packing up all the soft spouted sippys one day and that will be that.
