So, we're totally sure we'll have more kids, some way or other, and we're hoping for sooner rather than later.
My question is this: how do I label my LO's stuff for when she goes to nursery/daycare? I don't want to put my daughters name on stuff when I know I'll be re-using it for subsequent kids. I know lots of families who put their last name on stuff, but my last name is Johnson, which I think is way too common a name to label stuff.
Any ideas how to label? (or am I just making this harder than it needs to be?)
(oh, for her main "bag" that goes with her I have a luggage tag with her photo, name, my name and cell phone #, so that's taken care of... it's more like cups and food containers. They all look the same!)
Re: how to label kids' stuff: by family or by name?
eta: her preschool requires first & last name labeling.

My youngest wore a jacket today labelled with his big brother's name. I don't really see a big deal.
Maybe you can do first initial, last name and then use the same first letter for all your kid's names.
I use Mabel's Labels and just have our last name. If we had a more common last name, I'd probably do first initial and last name.
We do the same as this poster.
It sounds like you are way over thinking this. It's not like you can't just put new labels on when you have another kid. You're not sewing the kids name into clothing or anything.
