Cedar Point

I'm the student council advisor at the high school, and on Thursday we are taking a trip to Cedar Point. We are leaving at 6 a.m. and won't be back until around 10 p.m.! While I'm looking forward to spending a day with some really great kids, I'm not looking forward to figuring out how I'll make it that long without pumping or finding a place to pump, or how to store the milk, or how to leave the kids while I go off to pump, etc. etc. etc. Blah!

Suggestions?

(Note: I only make a total of 7-8ish oz a day combined, so one pumping session I'll only make about 2 oz. Is it worth it to lug my pump around an amusement park at all? Should I just suck it up and be uncomfortable?)

Re: Cedar Point

  • oh I looove Cedar Point!! I can't think of a good pumping place :(  maybe bring the pump with you but leave it in the vehicle and when you get there find an employee who isn't n 18 year old boy and ask them for their suggestion on where might be a good quiet, private place to pump and if you have a good opportunity go get your pump but if you don't have a good opportunity just skip it for the day and don't worry about it.  have fun and ride the dragster for me!!!

  • If it were me, I would be finding a spot.  But my supply tends to tank if I miss more than a couple nursing or pumping sessions.  If you're not concerned about your supply, then I would just go without.

Although, if you're going to ride any roller coasters with restraints over the chest...that would be pretty uncomfortable with sore bewbs!  Is there a number you could call to ask if they can make accommodations?  I'm sure you're not the first person with this issue!  GL!

  • I love Cedar Point so much! I want to go now! If I were you I would pump at the first aid station or Information Center (maybe you could call the park before and set it up?) because they probaby have somewhere private for employees. They might have a place to store it for the day, but maybe you could just keep a really cold cooler jam packed with ice in your car? I would pump as little as possible so you don't have to worry about the hassle but can still enjoy the rides without  having super painful bewbies... that would kill on wooden roller coasters!

Enjoy your time there! I'm so jealous!

  • I thought you were going to quit pumping a few weeks ago!

I'll be the devil on your shoulder and tell you to use this as the final straw to quit pumping for good.  Cut out sessions for the next few days then on Thurs you should be ok, wear a sports bra and don't pump at the park.  Friday shouldn't be too bad then you have the weekend to get over any last engorgement.

(I'm just trying to suck you to the dark side since I just quit last weekend)Wink

Haha, I KNOW!! I suck! I just can't give it up, more for selfish reasons though. I'm only 3 weeks from summer break. I love bringing Miles into bed with me on weekends and "sleeping in" while he nurses in bed (usually just takes a few minutes before he passes out and lets me sleep some more). So, I just wanted to keep that going throughout the summer for our mornings together!

Ohhh I miss Cedar Point!!  You should call thier main offices, I bet that they will have a place in the park that can accomidate you, although you may have to rent one of thier overpriced lockers to store your pump bag.  But that would be better than having to walk all the way out to the parking lot and lug the bag all the way back in.

The dragster is the best ride ever. Please ride it for me too! Also... I kinda think leaving it in the car and running out for maybe one pump session during the day would work.. if it's not too hot anyway.. and then store it in a packed cooler maybe?
