Would you even bother with sending invites?

I can't decide if I even should order invites for Alex's birthday.

We're really only having family over for his birthday. Everyone already knows date/time/place. Is it even worth it? It would be cute to have little momentos of his birthday, but I just can't decide if it's worth the $ and time for only 10 invites. I haven't been able to find anything I love yet for invitations. Someone suggested that instead of invites, I could sned out 'announcements', but 1. I didn't do that for his birth, 2. I don't even know if people do that for birthdays.

WWYD? Should I send them or not?

Re: Would you even bother with sending invites?

  • I do, mostly because I use it as an occasion (just like Christmas cards) to send an updated photo of DC, since I never tend to send hard copies of photos out any other time during the year. Everyone really likes it. IMO, it's worth the cost of paying someone to design a custom photo file for you, then just print the file wherever (like Meijer/Snapfish, etc.). Easy peasy.

I'm going to order them. I might as well! Spending money on your kids is never a waste, right?!? Besides, I'm sure I'll wish I had when it comes down to it. Thanks for the reassurance Wink

  • You can get 25 6x7.5 cards at Costco with envelopes for around $15!  So, maybe you'll like one of their designs or have someone design one that size for you.
  • What about just doing really cute photo thank you cards instead?
  • I send them out for every birthday (or will for Cedric).  Just like stated above though I just order through snapfish with his photo on them.  Actually did last year with my pamper points, so only had to do stamps.  This year (2nd birthday) I will still send invites even though it is only family.  But I think it is totally up to you.  I know a lot of people who wouldn't bother.
