Shoe size

I've been told by many women that my feet will get bigger...permanently. So far I've had swelling, but I still fit in my sneakers just fine. Anyone's feet getting bigger? Or have become larger from prior pregnancies?

Re: Shoe size

  • I was a size 6.5-7 before.  I have (well had) a very high arch so now that the ligaments have loosened none of my shoes fit...I'm closer to an 8 and with the recent swelling even they are starting to squish me Embarrassed

  • Even when my feet aren't too swollen, some of my cute heels are starting to feel tight so I'm wondering if they are permanently bigger....I would not be thrilled with that considering I have a lot of shoes I LOVE.

  • I'm having shoe issues.  Most of my shoes (and I have a serious DSW problem) really don't fit.  At all.  I don't now if it's part swelling, part spreading, part whatever but I'm going to be a little unhappy if most of my old shoes no longer fit.  It won't break my heart to do more shoe shopping, but I love some of the pairs I have!

  • My feet have definately gotten bigger. Which I am not thrilled about since I already have a hugeeeeeeee foot (size 9.5-10)!!! I noticed my shoes were getting too tight before the swelling kicked in. Now that they are swelling - forget it! I am hoping they go back to normal. It's hard enough finding shoes in my size and the ones I have I love!

  • I have had no swelling in my feet, but my old shoes feel tight.  This weekend when I went sandal shopping I had to get a half size bigger.  I think that this will be my regular size now.  I don't have too many shoes, and my Chacco's still fit so it is fine with me!

  • My feet stayed the same with my first pregnancy. And i haven't seen a difference with this pregnancy yet. Hoping it will stay this way. I wear a 8- 8.5 already.

  • Previous pre pregnancy shoe size was a 9.  During the pregnancy I needed a 10.  After pregnancy I went down to a 9.5.

    This pregnancy things havent changed.

  • I can't wear my narrower dress shoes anymore, but everything else still fits.

I had wide, flat feet to start with, so I imagine there wasn't too much widening they could do anyways.

  • my new Vans slip ons that I got for Christmas were originally loose. Now, they're really tight. My feet dont look swollen but I guess that are a bit. I think it will go back down...

My feet have been super swollen and none of my shoes fit but flip flops. I hope they're just swollen and that all my shoes will fit again once I give birth. I have way too many pairs of shoes (probably around 100 pairs) for my feet to grow a size!!!

  • I haven't really noticed a change, but then again ever since it started warming up most have my shoes have been shoved to the side for my flip-flops. But honestly, I wouldn't mind my feet getting bigger. As it is, at a size 5, it's near impossible to find shoes that fit. If I want a pair of ballet flats, I need a size 3 kids!!!!!
  • I bought sandals back in March for the warmer weather and they were a 7, I'm usually 6.5. All my other shoes still fit just fine though. My feet don't look puffy but they are warm and red and I know I've got some swelling going on.

  • Yep. I haven't officially been measured but I am about a 1/2 size bigger if I were to guess. Unfortunately, from those who I've asked-it is permanent due to the loosening of ligaments in your feet during pregnancy making your arch less apparent. Total bummer since I am a self-proclaimed shoe addict and will need more comfy shoes by fall/winter:(

  • My feet are definitely puffier, and I still fit in my shoes... but when I wear flats or heels, I can see the puffiness sticking up and out.. super attractive.  I'm sticking with flip flops these days.  I'm keeping optimistic and will assume once the swelling decreases, I won't have any issues with fitting into my normal shoes.
