Birth certificates

Does anyone remember how long it took to get your child's Ohio birth certificate?  Avery was born at Good Sam and I filled out the paperwork there and submitted it before being discharged.  We already got her SS card a couple of weeks ago, and it seems like Brady's SS card and birth certificate came around the same time.  My H needs the BC for some insurance paperwork, so I'm trying to decide what to do.  FWIW, she's six weeks old.  TIA!

    I believe you have to actually request the BC, they don't just send it to you. Since she was born in the city of Cincinnati you should be able to go down to the office on elm street and get it the same day. I think you have to go before 1 or 2pm for same day processing. The info should all be on the website, but I'm on my phone and don't have the link.

    They no longer send them to you.  You can order them online (pay shipping), or go to pick one up.  You use to have to go to the county office where the child was born, but they changed the rules in Jan 2011 and you can go to any county office in the state.  I live in clermont county, and delivered at Good Sam and I was in and out within 15 min from clermont county office.

    I have to go down to the county office and get DD's, we need hers now for insurance too and I don't want to wait for it to get mailed.

    Geez, I'm glad I asked.  In KY they send it to you, or at least they did when B was born.  Thanks for the info!

    I paid $45 for DD's last week and got it within the week through Vitalchek.

    Thanks for posting this. I still needed to get Charlotte's and thought you had to go to pick it up. I just ordered it online. Cool. Weigh lifted.
