which is CD1?? (tmi)

I feel like I should be more confident in knowing my CD1, especially since I know what I would say if someone else asked this, but I guess I just want all your expertise since I'm scheduled for CD3 bloodwork/Clomid Challenge and I want to make sure I have the timing right....

My temp was high around 98.4 from 9dpo-12dpo and yesterday (13dpo) it fell to 97.92. I expected AF so prepared myself with a tampon..... Basically (to avoid way too much detail), I believe if no tampons were involved, I would have just spotted yesterday, light flow at best. Today my temp is below the coverline 97.56 and I'm sure the flow will continue into its usually heavy start...

... today is the real CD1, right??

Whatever day is the first day of red flow, that's CD1.

So, if today your heavier red flow begins, it's CD1.

That's exactly what I would tell someone, lol.... That's why I assumed it'd be today, even though I guess I was expecting it to be yesterday...

Hey E, I'm sorry again about the start of yet another cycle Sad

I agree with everyone else, I would count today as CD1. So I guess you'd be going on Wednesday for CD3 testing. I always wondered what happens if CD3 is on a Sunday? Oh well. I'll be sending lots of positive thoughts your way that you get some answers with the bloodwork this month.

My doctor told me to go in on Saturday (CD2) if CD3 was a Sunday.

Something my RE office tells their patients is if the full red flow starts AFTER 4pm, then to count CD1 as the next day.

For example: If your full red flow started on 5/15/11 at 7pm, then CD1 is 5/16/11.

I am doing Clomid, so they need to know CD1...I had spotting all of last weekend, full red flow started late Sunday night, so CD1 was Monday.

I have no idea if this helps or confuses you, but I thought I would tell you.

I believe they use this distinction because of the timing of the blood work. So, that if there was a hypothetical need for CD1 blood work, the patient wouldn't flip the hell out if they started bleeding after the lab closed. This extends into CD3 blood work, because if one started full red flow late in evening and counted it as CD1, blood drawn the morning of CD3 would actually be drawn only about 55 hours after flow started, as opposed to a full 72 hours.

For regular charting needs, we just care what day we started full red flow because we're dealing with a new month long cycle. kwim?

And Lauralew, that's definitely the info I'm looking for (since I'm getting a CD3 blood draw)... I know them testing CD2 is ok (since that's what I would have done if it was a wkd)... but I just wanted to make sure others thought the same.
