Does your LO...

... sleep on their face?  At least once during each nap, I find DD sleeping with her face down in the sofa!  Of course, I immediately turn her head, but I don't know why she gets into that position- does she like it?

And don't worry- she can move her head/neck from side to side.  She just seems really comfortable there.  Weird!

Re: Does your LO...

  • I never let DS sleep on his stomach unless he's on me, but yes, he often will mash his face into my chest/cleavage - he doesn't seem to have issues breathing either in that position, but I always turn his head.

  • She only sleeps on her tummy for naps- I found she stays asleep a lot longer than when she's on her back/in her swing.  She does that into my chest too... silly little babies :)

  • If I'm walking/rocking DD to sleep, she turns her head into the crook of my arm and really rubs her face in it.

DD does this to DH too but in his armpit!  Which is gross because he's usually sweaty when he gets home to hold her (he teaches PE)!

Whatever works right?!  The reason DS normally sleeps on my chest is because in the daytime, if he isn't settling when I try the swing, I wear him, either in the moby or the beco, but both have him in the same position.

  • DD does this when I'm holding her and she snuggles into my shoulder. It makes me nervous, but I'm always listening for her breathing, and I'm holding her.
