Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Wah, why didn't I trans. out of RnP earlier?

I never though she would be 6.5 months and I still would be doing this.  I have tried a couple times before, but then she would get sick and the incline was better or her teething was real bad.  Finally, two nights ago I just put her in her crib and have decided to be strong and stick to this transition.  This was something I thought I would have done a good 3 months ago.  First night went well.... last night was another story.

She has been a pretty good sleeper from day one, so I realize my complaining is petty about her waking up often last night.  I am just hoping she will soon get into the routine of the crib.  After we get this going, then I need to be better about putting her down drowsy rather than after she falls asleep at the bewb.  I just read all your sleep training posts and I feel horribly behind.

Am I the only one 'left' on here? hehe

  • Wnen we transitioned out of the RnP, our LO had an incredibly hard time getting used to the crib and we even had a wedge. I put up some rolled towels under the sheets to sort of snuggle her like the RnP and that worked like a charm. Once your LO gets used to the crib, then you can take away the towels after a while.

You're not the only one! My LO still sleeps in her RnP next to me. I don't want her to leave my room yet. Sad I think we're going to transition in three weeks because that's when my summer vacation starts though.

  • I am more behind in the aspect of DS falls asleep in our arms, I have been putting him down drowsy at bedtime, naps not so much yet. Its just easier for naps to put him down asleep already.

  • My LO sleeps in his swing from time to time still when I need to have a good night sleep. I really shouldnt have it to fall back on and am thinking of moving it out of my room all together.

  • Katy still sleeps in the RNP, I tried to transition her about a month ago into the PNP(we don't have a crib) but gave up after day four of no sleep. I guess I should try again, probably, maybe, I don't know.

  • Thanks guys. I am so glad I am not alone. Makes me feel better!!  I really need to just bite the bullet and buy a sleep training book and create some official routine.  Just hoping night #3 of crib transition goes better.  I am a tired mommy today.

    Thanks for your responses.  :)
