Back to work sitter question

I start back to work tomorrow and we have a sitter coming to the house mon-weds every week.  My question is that my daughter has recently started sleeping MUCH better, not thru the night but only up once then up at 8am or so and I will need to leave for work by that time.  I don't want her to wake up not see me and get upset.  Should I let her stay sleeping or should I wake her up.  Our sitter has come over a few times for a few hours to get used to everything but I'm worried Brynn will think I left her :( (I already miss her).

Thanks for the help, Ladies!

Re: Back to work sitter question

  • We currently have an in house sitter (friends of ours just moved back from out of state and are living with us while they are in the process of buying a house). Ty is always awake by 6 so I have gotten to see him. If he were asleep I'd probably just let him sleep. However, my sitter has been living with us since he came home (short sales take awhile) so he doesn't know what life is like without her around lol. Im not sure that is a tough one. I guess I'd wake him up. Ty sttn from 8pm-2/3am then up again at 6. By 6 he needs a diaper change anyway.

  • I don't know if it's normal or not, but Mason doesn't seem to really care who is with him.  He definitely knows who Andrew and I are, and he gets very alert when we're in the room but he's kind of okay with anyone.  I think at this age, they've not really developed separation anxiety or really notice that kind of thing.

Like I said, I don't know if it's normal or not but he seems to be fine with his sitter or just about anyone really.  I went back to work 2 weeks ago and while it's tough, it's not as bad as you're imagining it.  You'll get used to it and you'll be amazed at how much better you'll feel in a week or so.  Good luck!

I always leave for work before DD wakes up. It doesn't seem to bother her.
    I married a ginger.

  • I think she's too young to be able to think that. It's harder on us than it is the babies to go back to work

I agree, unfortunately.  It won't be long before they recognize us, though!

  • Thanks Ladies!  She was awake before I left so I didn't need to worry about it.  I agree that she probably wouldn't know the difference; I was probably just kinda hoping :)
