  You probably don't absolutely HAVE to top stitch. I think I forgot to TS a few of the fitteds I made.. though I never made a fitted from a prefold. If you're turning them they will just be a little more bulky w/o the top stitching.

  Here's a link to a tutorial I found a while back. I haven't tried it but it looks like an easy way to convert a prefold with elastic. I don't believe it involves any top stitching or a serger. Just a zig zag.

  you are awesome!  that's exactly what i am looking for!!!  i tried googling but was getting stuff that involved adding other fabrics and this is much more like what i wanted to do! THANK YOU!
