Friday was my first day back at work and DS's first day at daycare. I sent him with five, 3 oz. bottles of BM from my freezer stash, and he went through all of it. I pumped three times at work and got only 8 oz. Soooo......you can do the math. Eventually, I'm going to run out of BM b/c I can't pump enough to keep up with his demand. We've been supplementing with soy formula and DS takes that no problem. Here's my question. I don't want to burn through my freezer stash in a couple of weeks, so what would you send to daycare? Would you keep sending all BM until you're out, and then go to all formula? Would you send half and half BM and formula? Would you send mostly formula and one or two BM bottles so that LO can get at least a little BM for a longer period of time? I'm confused! Not really sure if it even matters, was just curious. Thanks!

My supply isn't low. I just have never gotten very much from pumping. I talked to my LC and she stated that pumps will never get out of you what your baby will. She told me that every woman gets different amounts when they pump, and just because I don't get that much when I pump, doesn't mean I have supply issues. I've just had to learn to accept that I don't get very much from pumping.
Are you sure they're not overfeeding your LO? I send the same amount (my mom watches DD a few times a week and a friend watches her a day a week), and I usually end up with two bottles being returned. Sometimes just one is returned, but usually two. I feed her at 6am, then she typically eats at 9, 12 and 3 (not "scheduled" per se, but that's what it usually ends up being). If she's extra hungry, she'll maybe go 2-2.5 hours between a feeding or two.
In an eight-hour workday, that just seems like way too much.
