It's gonna be a long night...

DS has slept pretty much all day, since we got home from church.  I have a feeling he's gonna be up all night awake from sleeping all day.  I sure hope not....

Any advice on getting him to sleep even though he slept all day?

Re: It's gonna be a long night...

  • This was us two days ago. DS slept literally all morning after his feeding (9-12), from 2-5 when I was out running errands, and again from 6-8. I was a nervous wreck that he was going to be up all night, but surprisingly he slept 6 hours, got up to eat, then slept another 4. I think he just needed to get caught up on some much needed zzz's! Maybe your DS will surprise you!

  • I just told DH I have my fingers crossed he is perhaps in a 9 week growth spurt and needs his sleep to grow! I guess we'll see...

  • My experience with my DS and now again with my DD is that even if they nap the day away, they still sleep at night. It's their way of catching up on sleep. At least I hope for you that's what your LO is doing!

  • I've always found that sleep=sleep.  When #1 was a baby he always slept better at night when he napped well during the day.  Hope it's the same for you!

     Same here.

  • I hope the sleep = sleep pp is right! That seems to be generally how it is for Mackenzie.

GL! I'll look for an update.

  • I thik sleep = sleep must be right!  He slept from his 10pm feeding to 3am.  He tried to say awake after his 3am feeding, but I was able to just cuddle with him and he fell asleep within 30 minutes.

Unfortunately my own sleep was still interrupted by my SD who had her first nightmare last night and showed up in my room at 4:30 am telling me that she was scared in her room.  DH is out of town, so I let her crawl into bed with me, and I swear to you she did not go back to sleep before we got up at 6am to get her ready for school.  Oh well...
