TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Did IUI change your LP?

If you have a pretty stable LP length, was it the same after Hcg-induced ovulation? Without subsequently taking progesterone?

In order to get started on my next IUI they need to see me on day 1-5 of my next cycle. My LP is 13 days every time, so I want to set up the appointment ahead of time. The appointments can be hard to get and I don't have any flexibility with my work schedule. This cycle probably won't be a success because my husband's donation only had 5million sperm. Any less than that, my RE said, and they don't bother going through with the IUI because "your odds are the same as just having intercourse at that point." MH had a SA a year ago where he had 109million sperm, so we're thinking that this was just a fluke. Still, he's going to take another SA next week just to be sure. All of that is just to say that although I think this cycle is a bust, I'm not too worried and I'm hopeful that future ones will do the trick. But I really need to get that appointment...

Re: Did IUI change your LP?

  • Mine was pretty much the same everytime. Once it did get shorter but I had a lot of follicles that month, they said that can happen.

  • Mine was always longer because of the progesterone that I was on. I had to take that until like 14dpiui and then tested stopping the progesterone after the BFN

  • Mine was longer, but I think it was because I did an hcg booster shot 3 dpiui. I hope you get some better news next week with your DH's SA.

  • The only cycle I triggered O (other than for IVF) was the cycle I used injectables.  My LP was shorter than normal - like 11 days instead of 14.  But, I think it was due to the injects, not the trigger.

  • I only had one totally BFN IUI cycle (the other two were a C/P and this current pregnancy), but in the failed cycle my LP was longer by a day or two (AF came on 16 dpo instead of 14 or 15). I did clomid+hcg trigger, but did not take progesterone or have an hcg booster.
