My husband talked me into telling

My husband talked me into telling our families tonight and now I am even more nervous. He was so excited though I couldn't tell him no.

Have any of you told your immediate family this early? Does it make you even more nervous about something happening?

Last time I waited until after my first u/s, which was at 8 weeks.  Once we saw the hb we thought we were in the clear, however we unfortunately suffered a loss.  This time around I told my parents and siblings already.  I want them to be there for me if anything happens and I'm also a terrible secret keeper!

  • My FI told his father today. I'm not too sure what to think because it wasn't a mutual decision but I'm not really upset. All he told him was that we might be having a baby & we'd know more soon. I just wish I knew beforehand he was going to tell him.

  • It really is hard to keep a secret this big from the ones we love. I mean we leave 700+ miles from all of our family and we still couldn't manage to wait. But I also know that because we live so far from everyone have their thoughts and prayers as well as support if something happens will be nice.

  • I told right away with my last pregnancy and we ended up losing the baby after the "safe point." The support and love we received was so needed that we decided we're telling right away with this pregnancy too. In the end having that support outweighs having to 'untell' for us. I think you just have to do what you feel is right!

  • With our first pregnancy, we told our parents the day we found out.  Unfortunately my Dad couldn't keep his mouth shut, so everyone found out pretty quickly.  We told our close friends after we saw our babies heartbeats, and then made a general announcement after our NT scan.  We ended up losing our LOs at just over 13 weeks.  While untelling was awful, the amount of support we got was fantastic.

This time, we are planning on telling our parents next weekend with the strict warning that they are not to tell anyone.  We are going to tell a smaller group of friends after we see a heartbeat, but I am not making a general announcement until at least 14 weeks if not later.

  • We told our parents (and DH's siblings) within a week. I will want them to know in the case of a loss, anyway. But also? I cannot keep this to myself! :)

We told our close family early and it did make me a little nervous, but then I thought if anything happened, I'd want them to be there for me.
  • I just told my mom today. She asked, I denied it, but knew she'd keep asking and noticing clues so I just went ahead and told her. She was so excited, I want to tell more people! We're going to wait a bit longer, though.

  • We've told right away with each pregnancy.  While it makes me nervous, I also know that I would want the support from family and a few close friends if there is a loss.
