For those of you who remember, my induction was delayed and I was freakin' out! WELL I freaked enough to lose my mucus plug and spring a slow leak in my AF. L&D nurse told me to come on in. When the triage doc checked me she says, "yeah your water broke, I can see her hair!"
So that started the not so fun chain of events that is my birth story...
***caution things get rough****
Contractions were 2 minutes apart from the start (on my own may I add!!) But I was still only dilated to 2 cm. But I thought, hey maybe things will actually go according to my birth plan (wanted it to be drug free!). Man was I wrong! had our birth ball, massage toys, the works. I tried getting up to change positions and was so nauseated I would just dry heave! I could do nothing but lay on my side and breathe! After 8 hours of contractions every 2-3 minutes I was still only dilated to 2 cm! Doc wanted to start pitocin and I caved and took the epidural. I was making no progress whatsoever!
Dilation progressed well from here on out, about a cm/hour. Around 2 in the afternoon I felt the intense need to push, but they wouldn't let me because I was only 9 cm. Waiting it out to 10 was the hardest part! Finally I could push and about 10 minutes in baby's HR leapt to 200 BPM! Doc didn't believe it and started internal monitoring. Indeed her HR was that high, so the options were to get her out or emergency c-section. Oh my god I pushed that baby out in 3 minutes! 2nd degree tear! She gulped some AF on the way out and wasn't breathing well, so they whisked her away (I sent my husband along) and I didn't even get to hold her!

She was on oxygen because her respirations were so shallow and rapid. I was informed she was 7lbs 9 oz (born at 3:02 pm) and not much else.
Me, I'm still on the table, legs up in the stirrups, trying to deliver the placenta. Well, it wouldn't detach, doc and resident took turns pulling it out in pieces. They couldn't get it all out and were discussing surgical removal. I am freaking out, my mom hadn't made it yet, hubby with the baby. They are now in with tongs and forceps trying to get this thing out. Finally they think they got it all. my tear is sewn up, but I'm still not allowed to see baby for an hour until my bleeding stops. WELL I bled and bled and bled. More docs were called, I swear I thought I was going to hemmorage and die, the look on my docs face was soooo not good. Eventually It slows and I have to lay there, still not seeing baby
They were talking about possibility of blood transfusions.
I finally got to see baby at 6:30

That's my swollen jaundiced finger holding her little hand. they wouldn't let me feed because her respirations were still so shallow they thought she would aspirate. The doc wanted to try one feeding of formula before allowing me to breast feed. It was 2 am before I was finally allowed to try to feed her. It was the first time I got to hold her!!!

She was finally allowed to room in starting 9 am yesterday. Everything is fine, my bleeding has slowed significantly, but i am so swollen from IV fluids and My abdomen rather distended yet from the trauma. I hope my cervix starts to contract more soon, but i guess that's the least of my worries!!
Brought my baby home today!

Good idea posting the warning. It probably doesn't help hat I have been reading Breaking Dawn again, and Bella had probably the worst labor and delivery of all.
The pic of her in your siggy is SOOO cute! I'm glad she is doing so good now!
