NBR: Lets take a bet

Wednesday while driving to work I managed to spill much of my cup of coffee on myself.  That inspired me to go shopping.  I have not bought anything for spring and summer for about 3 years.  So I went to K-Mart (because I am a big spender and the office attire is jeans/kakis/capris and a nice shirt) and bought 8 new shirts.  Felt pretty good about that, only spend $100 and bought candy for the office and a birthday present for my niece (Barbie nail polish, liip gloss and eye shadow, score).

Now the bet is when does my husband notice?  I say that it will take wearing each shirt at least twice before he notices something new in my wardrobe.  To let you know how unobservant his is, the shirts I have not worn yet are in a bag on the floor of the bedroom and I get one out, pull off the tags and put it on each morning.

What about your S/Os?  How long would it take them to notice that you are wearing, have done something different to yourself?

  • My husband usually notices things pretty fast and will ask "where did you get that". Right now I think he is just ignoring my new clothing right now because I have had to buy almost all new clothing, 30lb weight loss.

Oddly enough with his eye for spotting new things it took him 3 years to notice my Chanel flip flops and that was only after one of my friends mom's made a big deal about them in front of him.

  • He usually notices right away. Tim is a man of science - being observant is his natural tendency and his job!! There are plenty of things he conveniently ignores though - like the overflowing recycling that needs to be taken out.

  • I'm not sure my husband would ever notice or if he did probably wouldn't say anything.  That just his personalilty.  Now if I was an online game or a new, improved softball bat, I would get all the attention in the world.  Haha.  BTW, He is a coach.

  • My DH would notice the shopping bags, not necessarily the clothes.  But he knows I rarely shop for myself, so I think he's probably notice.  Maybe.    We have a wedding in two weeks and he knows I've been trying to find a cute sundress that doesn't look like a circus tent on me.  So far, no luck.

He's also one to first ask, "How much did THAT cost!??"  Argh!

  • I honestly don't even know if he'd notice or not. lol
  • I don't think my husband even notices that I live in the same house with him.

  • TIm does not care how much things cost.  As long as the lights are on and the housepayment is made, I could spend every last dime.  As PP have said about their DH, if I was a change to WOW, he would notice in a hot second.

  • Yeah, if it's ordinary stuff I bet he won't even notice. Mine doesn't. If it is sexy stuff, oh, yeah, it'll get noticed. So, if it's not the sexy stuff, I'd give him to Labor Day.

Since  all I ever wear is jeans and black tees, H only notices if I wear a skirt or a color.
  • My husband notices everything, which is a bad thing sometimes bc it makes it harder to hide my shopping sprees from him, lol

Oh yes, pretending the recycling bin or trash isn't there, a classic!

  • DH notices when wear something new/sexy or take extra care with my makeup. He doesn't notice the recycling or trash though. :(
