Do you check the weather daily?

I always look at the weather before getting myself and my children dressed for the day.  It baffles me when I see kids that aren't dressed appropriately.  I understand if you live in an area that has more consistant weather, but here it changes so much.  Yesterday was in the upper 70's and sunny and today is in the lower 60's and overcast.  Sorry, just a little vent and I'm curious if I'm the only one who checks the weather.

Re: Do you check the weather daily?

  • Nope, never look at it.  I look out the window.  DH is weather boy.  If there is a treat of severe weather, he is on it.  He will txt me to tell me there is a tornado watch because he knows I have no idea.  Yes, I was sitting on my front porch when a twister touched down less than a mile from my house a couple of years.  You think I would learn.

  • I check the weather and it still bites me in the butt and I have to change people.  Yesterday when I checked the weather it said it was going to be 72.  Maybe it was in the 70's tomorrow, but it was frying hot by 11 am.  Today it said it was going to be 72 also.  It is overcast and probably closer to high 60's, but much chillier than yesterday.  Bottom line- I don't trust those weather people at all.

  • Yes, I check it everyday.  I like to know the weather for the week, and see how it changes. Especially when my son is out of school and I need to figure out how to entertain them that day/week.  I also do a quick check out the front door just for the temp.

  • Obsessively.  Weather.com is one of my favorite websites.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!  I also have one of those "weather center" things, so I can check the outdoor temp several times a day.  I might be slightly obsessed!

  • I have a weather ap on my computer and it shows me the current temp outside.  I usually take a look at that when deciding how to dress the kids for the day.  If I'm really good, I click on it and it tells me the expected temps for the rest of the day (and the next 3 days).

Every once in awhile though, I make a stupid dressing mistake :-P  I'm big on hoodies though, and a blanket for the baby - which are things that can easily be added or removed.

  • I do!  Every morning.  :)

  • Sometimes.

Usally I look out the window, open a window or walk onto the porch to see how it is feeling before getting Raz dressed If the weather changes that day I can always add a layer/take a layer off. Texas weather is so crazy that we will have a cold morning and burning afternoon at times...we are prepared for that without knowing.

But with the crazy Texas weather if I notice it looks like rain, feels a bit colder or warmer, etc... outside I do cheack the weather and make sure a cold fount is not coming in or a storm, or a huge heat wave, etc..so I can plan accordingly.

  • It's way too convenient for me to check it since I have the app on my phone. So I find myself looking at it multiple times a day!

  • I usually check it especially this time of year.  Plus our house is in the middle of a forest and can make it feel much warmer without the wind flow.  I love to check the hourly forecast when planning our day.

  • Yes, I check it either late at night, or early the following morning so I know how to dress Ben and myself for the day.  Also, I usually check the weather for a few days ahead since a lot of the activities that I schedule for the moms group that I run are outside and dependant on nice weather.  If it's raining/too hot/too cold, we have to resort to the back up location/plan.
  • Yep, I check the forecast daily. Our weather tends to change pretty drastically from one day to the next, so I never know how to dress unless I check.

  • I check sometimes, depending on the season.  The winters and summers are extremely predictable here, so I don't check, but spring and fall vary a lot, so I do check the weather then.
